Evening all, just thought I would swing by and update you on my car! To recap, I have the 2009 Audi A4 2.0T FSi 211bhp Sline Avant and I've had 'the fix' now. Picked it up 2nd January from Audi and lucky for me I've had a high mileage month.
I was told to run it in for so many miles, so take it easy driving it, which I have been.
Anyway 1st weekend in Jan I had to do 250miles, on the motorway I checked the oil on the MMI and saw 1/2 litre had been used, heart sank so on the Monday rang Audi uk and spoke to a dead nice guy. He said that I have to run it in for '3000' miles (wow), in that 3000 miles, I will notice the oil usage get less and less and do you know what.... He was right! The oil usage has slowed right down. I have now done 1200miles since the 2nd Jan and still have 1/4 litre of oil left. I now average 30-36mpg urban and 42-44mpg motorway. So it is getting better.
I am so glad I got Audi to fix it and I bought a car with a full Audi service history, they have been great, it isn't right all the stress but it has paid off! The car is a great car to drive!
This forum is a great help and if anyone is in the pickle that I was then be persistent and get the repair done by Audi but push them for the goodwill repair and read up on the fault, without that knowledge I may not have got the goodwill. I wouldn't get it fixed anywhere else as the Audi guarantee to me is worth the car itself.
