Hello people,

I'm now a proud owner of a 2009 S3 sport back s-tronic. It has everything auto lights/wiper, folding dimming mirrors etc
cat back milteck, neuspeed intake and a shark stage 2 map kicking out about 320bhp.

****** love it and I goes like stink .
ive got vagcom and all shows a clean bill of health, cornering fogs and dial sweep activated lol
just wanted to know what things should I check or change as precaution also what oil you guys using for yours. Caastrol edge 5 30?

cheers Dan

Yeah castrol edge 5w30 is correct for your S3
Depending on mileage it maybe worth changing the fuel pump cam follower.
Also only run the car and premium unleaded so vpower or tesco 99
Other than that drive it and enjoy.

Lovely looking car mate.

Hello,

Cheers for the reply, yes I'm running it on v-power.....:)

Can follower? Is there a DIY on this, also people keep saying about the DV too.

One more thing the sat nav has not got the disk with it and they seem expensive from the dealers anyone know a cheaper place to her these.

Cheers Dan

If you go in to the FAQS section there'll be a how to in there. I'm on my phone at the minute so can't post a link.
I bought a 2014 nav disc from eBay for £15.
I have my original but bought an eBay one as a spare to save my original.
If your cars running strage 2 software I'd imagine it'll be running a revision D dv .
If it's going well with no issues I'd leave the dv until you experience any issues.
Search eBay for rnse disc

Looks sweet, how is it running stage 2 and the S-tronic, i have the same car, thinking of going at least stage 2 in the future, do you notice any flat spots etc or loss of power through the midrange?

Hello mate,

Only picked it up last night, can honestly say it pulls ****** well and the s-tronic changes gear smoothly and very quickly. It's also been fitted with a pedal box too which I have only figured out how it works lol.
The remap is a shark stage 2 and was done before I owned it
Here's a print out

Enjoy the car.

Then get the rest of the power mods done. !

Cheers mate, we went from 2 cars to one so we looked high and low for the right one, found this one and me and my lass had to have it lol.

Cheers for the comments

Dan

Nice one Dan, certainly looks the biz! I think i might just go all out for the extra £600/700 & do stage 3 with the HPFP, heard such good things now, was just abit sceptical at first with having the S-tronic box thats all!

Great looking car. Looks to have spacers aswell. It might be a forum members old car. Does it have tvs in the back of front head rests?

Hello lads,

Yes it been lowered, has spacers and has the tv's in the rear of the front head rest.

Rides nice the only problems I'm having at the min is the fuel gauge does not seem to go to max/full or won't fill to the rim if you get what I mean. And can't seem to get the aux jack working on the radio.

But I'm sure I'll get it sorted lol love the car though.

Cheers Dan

I think it's on h&r springs 25mm lowered. There rear seems to be slightly lower.

Rides well I'm getting 100 mile on £28 which I don't think is bad at all considering.

Nice car mate!
To get the aux working press media an then press source, it's one of the corner buttons then select the aux from there. If that don't work I don't know lol

I'm fitting my 25mm h&r's at the end of the month... These pics give me a right good idea what its gonna look like.. Same colour same wheels, only mine is a 3dr

Just got myself a 2011 black edition S3 3 door in sprint blue, love it. Only Stage 1 so far tho. I have also noticed that the back looks lower than the front, is the normal on standard suspension?

I fitted 6mm spacers on front and 12mm on rear and find the rear scrubs on speed bumps and big bumps in road. I didn't get that on my A3 3.2 which I had lowered to the same height???

Looks like someone's gone all out ticking the options on that one, very nice mate!

Is it just a cat-back or turbo-back though as I'm sure you needed the turbo-back system and intake for stage 2?

Hello,

It does look lower at the back that's something I'm not very happy with, so need to find some springs to level it out abit. It currently has h&r springs on at the min.

We waited ages to get a s3 with good spec.

It has a turbo back miltec and cat removed with a neuspeed intake.
Very happy with it.

Cheers Dan

Well full service carried out by me this week,

Oil (castrol Edge 5-30w), Oil filter, Fuel filter and the HPFP cam follower all Genuine parts from TPS.

Had the haldex oil changed today at Tyneside Audi as i didnt have the tool but really happy with there service and got a stamp in the book too.

Just needs a good detail outside and the leather cleaned and that's the car perfect.

Cheers Dan

This is Nathans old car Muzza off the S/RS group

S3's only look as if they sit lower at the back as they sit very flat and the front has a higher arch line

Not 100% sure, I now the last owner was called john who is also on the audi s/RS forum.
Cheers Dan

I could be wrong mate, I know Nate did sell his car recently and his was the exaxt same.... All in all mate, still a lovely car :)

I'm going to try eibach springs as I think is car is sitting to low for me plus the area I live in has loads of ****** speed bumps......lol

Cheers mate, I love it at the min they seem pretty rare with the panoramic roof too and with all the spec it has.
I've been speaking to the lad that used to own it seems to have been looked after'd has receipt for everything too.

So pretty happy with it so far.

Cheers Dan

Cool nice one mate looks like you have got a good example there with all the "toys". Get an RNS-E in there if it hasnt already got it. I am at a REVO stage one myself and slowly modding up to stage 2+. If you dont already know - the TTS engine cover fits straight on to your engine, if you wanted to cover it up.

If you want pics mate just let me know. Mine is red but it is a 2009 3 door with the H&R springs.

Cheers mate... should be ok... i'v seen a fair few with it done... only ever seen 1 S3 with the rims I just put on yesterday and it wasnt lowered, looks really nice now, but i'm hoping the springs just give it that edge....

Worried about the ride comfort on it afterwards (I know comfort ha)... but had Eibachs on my old car and it was a harsh ride

Hmmm well only advice I would give is upgrade your shocks as well if at all possible!

Hello,

Yes I already have the RNS-E fitted with the Bose but I'll be upgrading this anyway as I'm not really impressed with the sound if the Bose.

My plan is to have morel supremo mid bass in the front door and morel piccolo tweeters in the apost, all dynamatted of course.
Morel ultimo 10 subwoofer fitted in the passenger side of the boot.
DLS a6, a3 and a2 amps in the spare wheel well

I'm going to use a audison bit one so that I keep the RNSE.

Cheers for the information on the engine cover I was going to by a s3 one anyway and modify it but if I can get in to fit directly that's even better.......:)

Cheers Dan

Dan.... I see in your Sig you've got your car as Estoril blue? Is that what colour that is? Judging by the pics it looks more Sprint Blue or Sepang at a push... I thought Estoril was a lot darker?

Think it's Sprint Blue. Audi Estoril Blue is very dark on a dull day, almost Midnight Blue dark. BMW Estoril Blue on the other hand is much lighter.

Hello,

Well been busy today, fitted the DV+ and new expantion tank with fresh coolant as the old one looked a little stained and dull.

Freshens the engine bay up a little the only things that need doing in the engine bay now is the tts enging cover or s3 and mod it, also for some reason the level indicator on the expantion tank look like the have been repair badly for some reason is beyond me. So I'll have to solder and heat shink it to make it look better.

Oh and I'm now getting around 35 mpg now to lol

Which I think is really good considering what it is lol.

Cheers Dan
