a question to anybody with a new s3,(Lucky sods), i`m thinking about the petrol consumption and was wondering if anyone had found out what the real mpg was, using a tankfull, with hard driving and also if driven as economically as possible! what sort of figures are achieved with combined cycle? i`m looking to order this car but some real life data at how costly it will be, would be much appreciated!! many thanks!!

Hi, welcome to audi-sport.net. Have a read through some of the threads in this section, iirc this information is in here somewhere. Enjoy the forum. :) x

Just to make things quicker for you (it can be a mine field when new) I'm getting between 31 and 34mpg on a mixed run (both town and b road) not amazing but better than I thought.

27 mpg, over 1100 miles normal mix of driving. I only took it easy for the first 250.
No long journeys as yet though.

In the stronic...

Quick driving anywhere as low as 15
Normal driving 30-32
Super careful drive on a 250 mile motorway run I got 42!

That's the info I needed dylock

When at work I drive so steady it's unbelievable, 55/60mph on the motorways on cruise so I'd be happy with 42mpg

That is the first time it's been that high though, at 60mph you should get it. I drove to Belgium when I first got it and got 38mpg.

I've got to say, the S3 is not for you if your worried about fuel consumption!

300bhp and high mpg don't go together.

This.
I don't expect to see my average with this car go above 30. For me that's not bad.

A question about the 42.mpg on a gentle run, is that what the car shows or have you worked this out when you fill up?
many thanks for your help!!

Apologies, over egged this.

I'm actually 24.8 over the 1100 miles.
no way will I see anywhere near an average of 30 in this car, like to drive it like it should driven be too much.

If you are worried about fuel, then this isn't the car for you. Performance luxury cars have luxury prices on all aspects of the vehicle. Maintenance, fuel, tyres, insurance, registration etc...

Can anyone tell me how to RESET or REPROGRAM a NEW DVD/NAVI head assembly for a 2011 Audi Q5?

Have to say my fuel gauge drops quick :). Not a car for effciency lol

You can say that again! Having to fill up just under every week.

Also has anyone noticed a deep droning noise, when they reverse and turn the steering wheel and also apply the brakes? Starting to get a bit worried as the noise is getting louder.

This is precisely my experience as well, the car will be very economical if driven carefully, obviously if u want the 300 horses to pull out youll have to suffer the consequences on the consumption.
