Hi, I'm just looking for some clarification on what you get extra with the basic comfort pack?
The only thing I can see that might be of use to me is the cruise control, but don't you get cruise control as standard?
Also is there any options to get a heated windscreen or is this standard?
Cheers guys

There is no such thing as a heated front screen on an Audi. The comfort pack is a must as it is good value for money as it has all of this; Comfort package. Includes auto-dimming rear-view mirror with light and rain sensor package (PU7), Audi parking system, you also get a acoustic screen with the sun band across the top.
rear (7X1) and Cruise control (8T2)

My car was spec with the comfort pack but didn't know acoustic screen came with it? When I checked the spec details in the manual this wasn't included. Can someone else confirm?

I think the only way you get a heated front screen on an Audi is to pour a jug of warm water over it. My car is normally kept in my garage overnight but my wife's A1 is parked on our drive and if it is icy or very wet she just pours a jug of warm water on it and it clears the ice or water and warms it up enough to stop it steaming up or freezing again. Been doing it for years and never had any problems. Much quicker than scraping the ice off and stops it from re-freezing. Use warm water not boiling water!!

It's odd as vw and skoda offer it

So do you get cruise control as standard on the s-line and what about reverse sensors are they standard or an extra?

Do they ? Have seen the horrible Ford heated front windows where the filaments are clearly visable. Is that what VW and Skoda have ?
No the ones on VW and Skoda use a clear film within the glass. The only problem (some might consider it an advantage!) is that this film stops mobile phone signals so you have to order their Advanced phone package as well.

Perhaps Audi think all their drivers will be iPhone users. :)

My wife's Evoque has heated front screen and you can't see the filaments unless you press your nose against the screen. I really wish the A3 had similar as it's marvellous this time of year.

You must have bad eyesight if you bought an Evoque !!! Bet you don't have another one.

I like the époque, fuel consumption is a joke compared to book figures

As it's my wife's I had no say in the matter. That said, I reckon it's a really good looking car, probably more so than the A3.

Should have gone to Specsavers ! I love classic Swb Landrovers and Defenders but ....

I love range rovers, dont mind the evoque, but i would much prefer a Range Rover Sport. Obviously they come under my A3 :D

OP Question: Cruise Control and Parking sensors are not standard at all.

How else can the windscreen be heated? I've had Fords since 1993, and my partner has also since 2001, and not one of us 'see' any elements unless you look for them.Ford certainly steal a march over other manufacturers and they should be a standard fit on all cars...

cuke... Had a company Scorpio briefly in 1992 and that was clearly evident, as there were on a 99T Focus my old man had. I find them very distracting. The Audi system of a power surge heat of the screen from inside is far better IMHO. Just taken a look at a nearby neighbours Focus and I can see them.

A friend's new GTI has a heated front windscreen, and it's completely invisible. It uses a heated conductive laminated layer within the screen, no elements. Much much better than the Ford system, which I find incredibly distracting as you get glare off lights at night.

If they offered the same screen on the A3 as they do in the Golf I would definitely spec it next time.

Whatever system is used I, and the majority of Ford owners do not have any issue with them what so ever and the sytem works fine, probably quicker. If you want to talk about distractions then drive a Q3 as it has a nasty reflection of one of the vents in the front screen right at eye level..

I suppose it depends what level your eyes are ;-). Not a fan of Q anything don't see the point.
If heated screen technology is/could be improved I agree the concept is good but my eyesight is pretty good and I hated the Ford system.
