If thats the case i stand corrected, i've got over 500 albums ripped onto my ipod 160gb classic in lossless form, so for someone like me i'm not going to bother ripping them into another format.As a matter of interest what lossless formats work with SD Cards and what SD Cards would you recommend ?

Getting our test batch in tomorrow hopefully.

Volkswagen Cables will be live first and then Audi after that. As soon as they are available I will be announcing it on here and our FB Page. Priority to forum members so don't worry :)

Are they the genuine Audi cables, or have you developed your own connector?
 
When exactly will this be available for Audi and how much are we looking at ?

Yes, that is the correct part number. I have asked in 3 dealerships, they've confirmed it's the correct part but there is currently no stock in UK. One garage has had them on order since before Christmas and it still isn't showing an expected date. I suspect they'll come flooding in shortly....
 
Hey guys!

Finally had a chance to play in a few cars and the cable works really well in MMI 2G and 3G vehicles. Sound quality is awesome and charges and doesn't show up the un-authorised cable which is good!

Only downside - No Album artwork. Now I was really hoping that this would have been standard due to the lightning being digital but perhaps this is why I know there is another cable out there that isn't available to us just yet. I imagine this would mean no video either.

Due to things being incrediblly busy recently I haven't got hold of an A1 or new A3 to test with RMC and see if it makes a difference.
(If anybody is in the Poole or Bournemouth area who has a free 5-10mins one day get in touch).

Just a shame that Audi / VW have been really slow on the uptake on this and have decided to release multiple cables (again)!

As soon as I'm happy with this one working with RMC then I will put them into stock on the site!

So there will be multiple versions of the MMI lightning cable? With / Without Artwork support?

Thought we would see an end to that confusion as it was bad enough with the older Red / Blue ipod cables! :uhm:

It looks like it which is s***. Especially when you take into consideration the cost of them!

It should just be one cable that is all singing and dancing but it seems Audi don't think along those lines. The cable with the PN that isn't around yet (further up the thread) is available to back order but with no ETA which isn't a good sign in terms of times.
 
My ami cable with a apple 30 pin to lighting convertor shows artwork just fine?

Again, I doubt it's Audi's fault here. More likely Apple.

To be fair... Silky's comment is a fair point!

You can go red collar and a lightning adaptor no problem but some people do want a straight forward lightning cable. Normally non-forum folk :)

I'm a little surprised by VAG on this one if i'm honest. Should be one cable does all.

Blame Apple, that's why so many people defected to Android - none of this rubbish and cables are dirt cheap - eg a charger cable for a Samsung s2, works on any Samsung phone eg note, note 2, s3 and s4 -though the latter you are better using a dedicated charger as they are faster at charging - but my point is you don't need to. Plus a charger for a Samsung phone costs £3, yes apple people that's a GENUINE charger - none of this rip off £30 for what is essential a bog standard usb charger with a dedicated and unnecessary connector
 
I have no idea how Apple managed to become the most successful company in the world... what kind of idiot CEO doesn't put in-car entertainment connector options at the top of their to-do list!

Happy to pay £30, rather than go backwards to using Samsung.
However, I've yet to have to pay for any of my Audi Apple connectors, so will likely get one free from my dealer.
 
An Apple one and the USB one by default. I asked for more and got more though.

ah welcome to my world. found this out 6 years ago and wont go back to apple in a hurry - the most frustrating feature of apple - the stupid warning advising you you are not using an apple cable - who cares and did apple make cables for cars then, no they didn't then but my alpine was ipod and iphone compatible - my iphone 3g didn't work because it wasn't an older iphone model - wtf

apple didn't want to know as it was outside their complimentary 90 day support (is that nice of them, spew). I went to an apple shop and I told the sales guy about the problem. his solution was to buy a non existent apple made cable.

so I bought a newer more expensive alpine stereo that was iphone 3g compatible and it worked, sort of, as the sound would cut out nicely without warning whenever it felt like it and with the stupid message.

I wont go back to apple and their stupid archaic closed door operating system and overpriced accessories and phone. made me laugh when apple said it cost $200 to make an iphone.....hahahahaha. if it cost $20 id believe them

I then bought a £10 sandisk sansa player that had no problems and still ok after 6 years, plus sound quality is far better than the terrible iphone.I sold the iphone and bought a Samsung s2 instead

your iphone has lower spec tech in it than a Samsung...for starters the antennae in an iphone sucks

not long ago >26% of an iphone was made by Samsung, still a big % and i think Samsung still makes the processor in iphone 5s, though apple use other firms for the processor as well

apple don't invent anything, they steal others ideas

Have a red collar lead bought an adaptor from apple £25 robbing b"$%$£"ds didnt work grrrrr. Iphone 4 works fine and to my suprise even played video (i don't have tech pack). Looks like they sent me a faulty adaptor.

Does anyone know if i can select different playlists on spotify using an ami cable, thats the main reason i'm looking for it over bluetooth.
