Dodgy A3 on eBay

Can't see the problem other than it saying it's had light damage before and registered. I presuming it was maybe more than just light but other than that. Obviously you'd want to give the repair a good look over. Full service history and only 33k miles, low if it's got the documentation to back it up. Would be cheap for someone young to insure if you like the look of it.
 
33,000 miles of peddle to the metal.....
 
See if you can find out about previous owners. Have a look and a drive and as Andy says check out the repair.
 
Early wing mirrors but no side repeaters on the wings
Wrong rear lights for year
Suspension levels are different in first two pictures
Says Xenons but probably means HID as has wrong headlights

Its more the cosmetic side of things that didn't look right. Being a 09 plate but not having the new shape (dumbo) mirrors and 09 tail lights.
 
Not uncommon for people to swap mirrors and lights though. Maybe replaced mirrors cause some toe rag smashed them off, that's also not uncommon.

What's dodgy about that, catD means insurance write off repaired. Probably done a cheap repair and used preface lift 8p2 parts to keep costs down
 
Doesn't say it's a Cat d, I would ask which category it is on and go and check out the repairs and phone DVLA to see if it has been VIC'd . The price is about right for a Cat'd, If you like haggle hard.
 
The fact it says "TECHNIK 1.6" should put anyone off.

I had the same engine in my last A3 and it was dreadful. Couldn't wait to get rid of it. A wheelchair had more grunt than it :p

If you are really interested in it then make sure you get a full check done prior to purchase, RAC or something similar.

Also wouldn't it fail its next MOT due to not having any side indicators?

That was another thing I was unsure on. Didn't Audi stop making the 1.6 and replace it with the 1.4 TFSI on the facelift A3's?
 
In those pictures the headlights are Halogen, not Xenon! There's just too much wrong with this ad to consider tipping that amount of money into this car IMO.
 
Firsty picture the car looks quite good, the rest look rubbish, partly due to the SE ride height. So either he has lowered it or taken stuff off it. But that doesn't explain the appearance of silver mirrors on the SE ride height photos. Some people just don't know how to present something!

Personally I wouldnt touch it... The parts are far too missmatched to think that anyone that had this car took good care of it... That is just my opinion tho

Don't forget there are/were two 1.6 petrols -

8v 105ish HP - weedy, uneconomical

16v 115ish HP (FSI) - slightly less weedy, slightly more economy but pointless (and therefore dropped) when the 1.4tfsi came out. I was never sure why they continued with the 8v 1.6 but I think that's what happened.
 
BTW Technik 1.6 has poverty heater aircon rather than dual climate too.
 
its a bit dodgy coz of the black cap on one passengers side and silver on the same side but no indicator on them.
looks like its been repaired by an idiot who knows nothing 'bout Audi's.
i'll approach with caution and put a big dent on the prize if you like it.
 
Definitely wouldn't touch it at that price. If I was spending £7k+ on a car, I'd want better photos of it than them.

Also, don't go for the 1.6fsi. I'm speaking from experience as I've got the 2.0fsi at the moment and its ****.
 
That is shocking, really shocking. I really hope someone buys it and joins the site though, would be hilarious them posting for advise lol
