Rear pad tool

Hi
I had an advisory on the MOT that rear pads are 75% worn.
Would like to do myself if going to be cheaper than at garage after I have brought the tool.

Any links/advise for the tool?

Pads on Euro seem cheap.

Get a tin of elbow grease as well mate because chances are they'll be seized up and a ****** to wind back

Euro car parts or Car parts for less are usually the best places to buy from if you're not going for anything too fancy in terms of pads.

Thanks for the offer, Im Bloxwich. If they £10 I may as well get my own as not sure when I will get round to it and wouldnt want to have it for too long/risk damaging it.

If you're feeling really tight it can and has been done with a pair of long-nosed pliers so long as it's not too seized... Could be worth trying that before putting your hand in your pocket?

Good luck with that on a car of this age. I normally have to put an extension on the proper tool to get more leverage!

Will get the tool, don't want to cause any damage so it ends up going to garage anyway.

Did it last year on a X reg S3 with not much bother at all... If the fella trying to save on cash (as he suggests in the initial post) then it could save him 20 quid or so.

To put that in real terms that's 4 or 5 pints!? (depending on where you live)

£11 machine mart one is good for the money. Maybe buy one of these and if you can do it with pliers you can return it unused.

I have lent my calliper rewind tool out so many times to mates, it must have made me a profit in beer tokens

Have been quoted £75 fitted, so have decided to have a go myself. Ordered pads from CarParts4Less and tool from eBay (less than £20 in total)...fingers crossed its not seized!
