That looks fantastic!! Shows what summer sun does to the car

Honestly Rocks, if you haven't seen Panther in the flesh you'll be amazed at the sparkle effect when you see it in real life under sun

Panther is brown/purple... If you want black try Phantom!

Pilot, is the Phantom black the same in real life as the 8P Phantom black? That's what I have now in my 8P and it's great

Same paint code. Nice practical and shiny Phantom Black!

Loving the black S3 from Australia. Is that Panther? Hard to tell from the picture.

Deffo Panther. Crystal paint has the magical ability to pop and look almost liquid like. It's what all detailers strive to achieve with Matt, metallic and pearl effect paints.

Crystal paint offers deeper and more lustrous finish right out of the tin. If you want a liquid looking finish, the ONLY choice is a crystal paint finish.

shame Porsche don't and won't offer up this paint technology....

Ah ok. I'm thinking of changing from white to black. Bit more work keeping black looking amazing though which I wonder if I have the time for nowadays.

I wonder with Porsche becoming part of the the VAG family if that will mean a considerable amount of technology share and cost saving through parts conformity?

Fark I wish I had gotten panther black now instead of glacier white lol. These photos look mad. I'm just not a fan of the maintenance black paint needs.

Parramatta?

Those are a couple of photos I took at Audi Centre Brisbane.

I ALMOST bought that very same car, but have now opted to buy the S3 Sedan. I'm tossing up between Monsoon Grey and Sepang Blue.

The Panther black is amazing, but I just don't have the time nor will maintain it like it deserves to be.

Apologies it's not an 8V, it's an 8P. My panther S3 8P has been a great car to own, but my god you have to work hard with it as it shows any swirl marks mercilessly. It's also a really difficult colour to touch up as the blunt front edge of the S3 tends to pull quite a few stone chips over the years. I've loved it and would have had it again but it wasn't offered as an option on the S5. Pops like crazy in the sun when we occasionally get any, but under normal lighting you'd struggle to tell it's not just black metallic. At ADI in 2012 the sun came out and some people were asking if I had a purple haze it was so pronounced. Well worth the investment.
