2009 3.0 TDI decat

On these cars there is a cat and DPF combined. If you intend to gut this then you will get issues and problems. They have to be mapped out. You might as well get a performance map put on the car at the same time.
I was going to suggest a few places as I have been looking around but I notice you aren't in this country.

Really? Didn't know the cat and DPF were one unit.
I assumed the 2 boxes in the middle of the exhaust were cats because of what appears to be an O2 sensor (esp. visible to the rear of the second box)

So are those middle boxes mufflers then?

Does your car have the AD-blue system on it then. I thought that was just for the American market.

Yes, I have a DPF like yours, but after seeing a technical diagram of the engine/exhaust layout of the CCWA engine (cannot find it now :(), I'm pretty sure there was a cat further down the exhaust system.

I've not actually been under my car to check firsthand, so I was assuming there was a cat.

Thanks.
Next question. In which order should I get the remap / DPF delete done? remap first and drive through to exhaust specialist (30mi) or DPF delete and drive (limp?) to software specialist?

Mine looks like it has the combines DPF and cat, but surely the DPF section could be cut open and the innards removed, leaving the cat as is?

Mine also doesn't have any silencers (mufflers) in the centre section at all, the pipe comes from behind the engine and is only pipe until it reaches the two back boxes.

I would get the car mapped first and then the exhaust removed. I am not 100% sure what the car would do with the DPF cored out and not having had the remap. I suspect it would probably drive fine as long as all the sensors are reconnected correctly.
But if you have the remap and DPF coded out first then it will work fine up until the point when the DPF blocks up because its not being regenerated but that will take quite a while depending on the state of it before it's mapped.
wouldn't be a problem for a few weeks I wouldn't have thought.

I don't think this will work because the DPF sensors monitor pressure across it so if you remove the insides there won't be a differential and it will flag up an error straight away I'd say.

Happy to be proven wrong though because if an error doesn't come up straight away, surely it never would because there's nothing to cause a pressure difference anymore.

i would have it mapped first they have to reset the dpf counter anyway when they do a software dpf delete . you should be fine to drive 30 miles to have the exhaust gutted afterwards.
