8V VCDS Mods

Had you changed the setting in vcds or does it automatically do it. Do you have folding mirrors?

I think I've changed the settings correctly because the other mods i performed this afternoon worked. I don't have folding mirrors but heard from reports that it's not required.

Maybe you need to set it yourself the first time - it could be that my dealer did it roughly right as part of the PDI or something. Mine takes about a second to start dipping after putting into reverse, so wait a second, move it down a tiny bit, and come out of reverse - see if it goes back up that tiny bit. If so, select reverse again and move it to where you want. If not, something else must be wrong.

Ih there a code that magically releases more storage space?

Yes it's called a hacksaw and you just cut off the roof!!!! or buy a new Cabriolet and keep the top down.

Or remove all seats leaving just the drivers one. Thus you could solve more than one issue :)

Hello,
I search code with vcds in 5F module code rearview camera.
A person who has an OEM camera can help me?
cordially

Right just an update. Got some other bits done on my which I can confirm working on my car.

Audio beep when locking and unlocking the car (sounds feeble to be honest but its useful)
DRL on the rear switched on.

Still can't get rear dipping mirrors working but I'll keep testing.

Procedure for the rear drls mate?

Taken from this page:
stemei.de .VCDS Codierungen .Codierungsservice .Webdesign - Stefan Meier - Tagfahrlicht mit Rückleuchten - VCDS Codierungen, Webdesign

Select STG 09 (vehicle power)
STG access authorization -> Function 16
Enter access code 31347
STG adjustment -> function 10
Select Leuchte27NSL RC6-light function D27 - channel (9)
Put value on daytime running lights (Tagfahrlicht)

That's correct but the only problem with that is it puts the cabin/dash illumination on all the time as well. On the 8P they was two rear DRL codings one with cabin illumination and one without.

my brothers mk5 golf had the needles on the instrument cluster illuminated all the time not the dials tho. looked really good. handy when it was a little too dark to see the speed and the auto lights didn't come on yet. i think id prefer to keep it on auto but with the rear drls not the full interior illumination on. i presume you can have the interior lights on dim like in the A8.

I have the instruments illuminated all the time on my 8P but I'm not sure this is possible on the 8V. I got my dealer to set them that way before I collected the car. I tried to set the same on my wife's A1 but the option was not available.

Has anyone been able to disable the headlight washers?

only way i found to do it on the golf mk5 was pull out the electrical connection on the washer bottle. couldn't find a way on vcds

and one of the reasons you would do it is its so annoying after you've washed and dried the car and you need to wash a little bit of the window only to forget to turn the lights to OFF so it doesn't spray all over the front of the car too!

Cheers. I managed to disable on the 8P and MK6 GTI via VCDS but couldn't on my girlfriends 2013 Polo

What hardware are people using with the VCDS software (I assume the -Lite version is enough for all these changes)?

I don't believe that VCDS-Lite supports CAN vehicles. I use a legit HEX+CAN USB with the full VCDS software.

Ooo... looking at the page, I think you are right... $250 is a lot (yes, I know it isn't compared to £30k for a car but...)

See if there's anyone near you who has it and doesn't mind helping out for some beer tokens :)

Dave,I'll clear the off topic posts and have opened the VCDS thread if you want anything added to the original post pm me.

Oh dear :-(

Yes there is always one who wants to do it their way and doesn't give a thought to others or the law.

I will be setting up a VCDS-Discussions thread later today and sending a PM to one of the Moderators who has been in touch giving him a list of the posts we want transferred to the Discussions thread and those we want to stay in the VCDS-Mods thread. At least that way anyone looking for a VCDS code will only have to look through the posts that actually give some information.

I hope this will be acceptable to the majority of members of the 8V forum. If anyone has any objections to this move then please send me a PM as soon as possible.

someone has the how to open completely the sunroof with the key ? (has to be activated with vagcom)

I think the Golf (when fitted with the rain sensor) can close the sunroof & windows if they are open and rain is detected, automatically. Do you know if this can be enabled for the A3?

Having a play with a friend's Golf last night I was impressed by the feature that switches on the front parking sensors when you drop below a set speed (5 or 10mph, can't remember which). Does anyone know if this can be activated via VCDS for the A3?

Hi. How did you enable the parking display. I have been onto my A3 with VCDS and cannot seem to find the Parking Aid section. I have found a Visual Display option under adaption, but it's not available to enable.

Is it possible to make the headlights go later on that now...It's middle of the day and they go on (Sweden). If it's really bright then they will stay off... And another thing, is it possible to change the time on coming/leaving home lights (as in "old" audis)? Make them stay on a bit longer, now they don't stay on long at all. Wonder why they don't have that option in MMI anymore?

Hi, I've been reading the forum for a while without posting. I'd like to share the list I'm working with, I've tested with a 1.2T base A3 with Xenon package, and I'm getting to play with a friends 1.8T in the following weeks. I've posted my list on other forums as well, and I'll keep you updated on any new additions. Feel free to edit it as you like.

Thanks very much for the list. Perhaps some others can do some testing on your non-tested items. It's quite amazing what can be done using VCDS.

I couldn't get this to work on my S3... Anybody else tried it?

Yes - it works, but you can't really do anything with it. It's nothing like the engineering menus from other MMI versions though that let you alter all kinds of things, so I'm convinced there must be another one somewhere that does let you do this.

I wonder why I couldn't get it to show it?
Back button - the one with "back" written on it...
Nav button 1 - The lefthand top silver raised "lever" pressed forwards??
Was the car running ?

Thanks
Simon

No, doesn't mean the raised buttons, it means the 4 buttons surrounding the central dial. I've done it with car running and without I think (definitely have done without).

You have to hold them down for about 10 secs as well

There's a few new ones on that list that I hadn't seen before.

Anyone cracked the lane assist and ACC menus yet?!

I don't think so, and I'm not even sure if the settings would be in the extra engineering menu (if it exists), or just stuff done through VCDS like other things on here. I didn't manage to get enough info out of the technician at Nottingham Audi when they enabled the menu on mine - he just said they went through all the settings and eventually found it.

Got it... Thanks... Nothing useful in there :(

I even tried to export the settings to SD card (which is one of the options) and have a look at what got put in the card, but it failed. You may have to have a blank SD card in there.
