Essential Mods ?

Hi,

So I've got my first Audi 2.0t SB Sline Quattro What mods would you more experienced peeps suggest are essential ?

Is is there anything that should be done to the engine that keeps it sweet ? Swmbo wants some parking sensors so suggestions on those please ;-) I'd like some LED rear lights which I'll have a search about on here unless anyone has a cheeky link lol I'd also like to see what's available for the front lighting, maybe a aftermarket projector led setup type thing as long as there not to er Halfrauds lol

All advice/directions for a noob appreciated, don't mind a ribbing or banter either as i do have a sarcastic cheeky sense of humour ;-)

- rev d diverter valve ( worth changing for peace of mind)
- Full Interior and exterior lights upgrade, pm t8ups on the forum for these, they work perfectly with no errors etc, much better than the ebay jobby
- Satnav headunit ( RNS-E) if you don't have one already ~£500

Audi Vw VAG 2.0TFSI Type D Diverter Valve/Dump Valve - FR&R Tuning| MAHA Dyno Rolling Road Tuning| Stage 1, 2 & 3 Engine Performance Upgrades <- this

Not to everyones taste, but wind deflectors is a pretty good add on, stops water pouring in when its raining whilst windows are open a little, - bit noisy at high speeds though like 70-80.

be careful of aftermarket projector lights, tend to blow wiper motors etc, best to stick with better h7 55W bulbs like osram night breakers or philips dimond vision

I've had deflectors on all my vans ;-) very handy keeping the condensation down from wet materials.

I don't think I'm going to lower it or risk a LCR splitter, remember is mainly swmbo runaround lol Tbh as per usual she was quite right with her reasoning (they normally are) lol

I wanted to buy a S3 Sportback so a fair bit more money, she said why spend more money on a car that's driven by me and used as just a car ? Hmmm good point, so let's spend less get a older car as it will get the odd knock/baby puke/dump run etc etc and keep spending on our house ;-) Women are just too sensible lol

I just can't believe how solid and nice it drives for a seven year old 5/6k car, there quality

No that's not cheeky I like a good build thread ;-) What's cheeky is not putting up a shameless linky ;-) that means I can't be lazy an actually have to search for it :-0

I've started having a peruse at the guy with the white s3 build thread, the one being done with APR mmmm that looks like Fun with a capital F ;-) Although I'd probably become a eunuch if I spent that sort of money lol

Cost me £220 fitted. Colour coded and flush fitting. Look good. Just finished installing them so I am going to get some pics. Shame its dark out

Edit: Added some more info & pics.

Soooooooooo.... Today was the day I got these fitted....

I took some 'before' pics around 2pm while there was some daylight.....

BEFORE:


It took approx 2 hours for the fitting (he was a great chap)

DURING:


But by the time I could take some after pics it was pretty dark.....

AFTER:


The sensors were colour coded before they came and do fit flush.... Apart from one because unknown to me the car must have been bumped at some point before my ownership and repaired.... The parts where the filler was used is slightly 'deeper' than the usual thickness of the bumper. You can ever so slightly see the white colour of the filler once drilled (I think I will get some touch up paint to it)

Anybody who cares to see can click on the link at the end. Cheers to Chris who actually posted these up in the thread. I will eventually try get an 'after' pic with some proper lighting (daylight) as the camera flash isnt great.

I took the car out once fitted and 'tested' them, they seem pretty decent if I am honest and I can't complain for colour coded, Cobra flush sensors fitted and come with 12 months warranty for £220.

My pal was asking me the other day about that.

Would fit on a sport bumper as well as an S-line and S3 however would suit the latter more, had one on my MG ZR and my mate has one on his TT. Very easy to fit, self tapping screws and a hacksaw to remove the two "plinths" in the centre to get it to fit flush and cut the ends as it's slightly too long.
