hi,

I have recently taken delivery of an A5 s-line black edition that was ordered with the s-line suspension.

After reading a few forum members complaining about the very harsh s-line suspension i was wondering if mine actually has it!

I have always had cars with a sporty set up and don't know weather im just used to the harsher ride.

If someone with the 'S-line suspension' could confirm the option code they have in the service book i would be most grateful.

thanks….

1bv for sports
1bl for ads
And the last code unsure what it is will be s line

You can check your codes here.

VW Group Option Codes Decoder

thanks,

i have looked at the decoder but I'm still unsure.

I think 1BV is the option code for s-line suspension, the option you have to ask for otherwise you get the sport suspension.

I have option code 1BE

on the decoder they both come out as; Sports suspension/shock absorption

That's why I was asking if anyone out there has an A5 that definitely has the S-Line suspension could be so kind as to tell me the option code they have in their service book....

thanks

I have an S Line with 20" wheels AND Eibach Sportline springs.

Ironically it's very comfortable!

Hi, I have an A5 S-Line and the code 1BE appears in the optional equipment section of the service schedule, I also have 20" wheels and the ride is no where near as harsh as I was expecting. Noknok

I have SLine and its not harsh in any way. Suspension is very objective. I payed over 1k on KW Inox full suspension and anti roll bars on my old cupra and it ruined it with a horrid ride yet some people swear by it. very hard to say whats better as everyone is different. Ex lotus driver so my definition of hard is pretty strict as well :jump:

gcon - absolutely awesome - congrats. May I ask the part number of your springs. Cant find sport line but pro kit: Parts catalogue

hi lex,

if you have your service book handy could you confirm your option code.

is it 1BE or 1BV.

thanks

My 2.0tdi S-Line has the suspension code 1BE in the service book if thats any help.:icon_thumright:

ps, pehaps the 1BV code you mentioned earlier is if you opt for the S-line suspensionon a non-S-line car, just a thought.

thanks sprint,

but I am led to believe that is the code if you do not select the s-line suspension.

believe it or not your s-line does not come with s-line suspension unless you ask for it!

Well Jamie-S said earlier that 1BV is for sports and 1BL is for ads. Yours is supposed to have the S-line suspension and its 1BE, Noknok has an S-line with code 1BE and I have an S-line with 1BE so I would assume 1BE is S-line suspension

I will just drop this here for added confusion..

found this on the a3 section,

Springs are the same. Shock absorbers and some parts around them (buffers) are different. BTW codes are - 1BE for "regular" (-20mm) sport suspension and 1BV for S-line (-30mm). You can check you order to find out whether it is 1BE or 1BV.

To clarify one and for all for everyone

1BE - Sports suspension - 20mm drop

1BV- S Line suspension - 30mm drop

1BL - Audi Drive Select (ADS) - 20mm drop

All drops are over standard suspension

ha, we must have posted that within seconds of each other!

think a few people will be amazed their S-line does not have S-line suspension!

sorry for the delay. mine is indeed 1bv.
so does that mean when i look at lowering springs then i compare their quoted drop over standard? so technically aftermarket springs that quote -30mm actually won't change mine at all?

thanks for getting back to me, as for you question...

that's how I would read it.

thanks jay.

Now I'm confused cos in post #2 you said 1BV = Sports Suspension

The thing is, I have seen people with for example, the HR Sport springs (not full coil over kit) which quote a 33mm drop over standard, and the tyres are practically in the arch. I have 1BV and have about an inch or so space so there is little chance the HR Sports are only 3mm different to sline. confused :uhm:
