2013 Audi S3

Interesting. Without configuring wonder if lava grey is still available for any model from the standard Audi swatch and not exclusive?

Unfortunately not - My first A3 2.0T Quattro in 2005 was Lava Grey - Cracking Colour

Agree we nearly had Lava but due to dealer **** up ended up with our first of many Phantom Black Audis. . Timeless and practical. Nearest to Lava I reckon is Daytona.

Had many Phantom Blacks since with a Deep Sea Blue in the middle - just like the dark colours

Going for Estoril this time - Just for a change - Panther Black was right up there of course along with Phantom again but don't know just fancied a change

Main thing it's a brilliant car and colours are each to your own

Agree! We considered Estoril until we saw it! Nothing like as impressive as DSB. Had an A5 Cab in that colour - awesome.

Ordered mine on the 7th dec

Did you order to get a March delivery? I ordered mine mid Sep and the car was built at the start of Dec.

I didn't want to collect until 1st March but thought it would be here by end of January - Originally was quoted build week 9 for end of March delivery

Got my build week today. It's week 9
Ordered on 28th dec.

Dealer trying to amend my order to get front and rear parking sensors and comfort pack but unable to get amended today. He's trying in the morning fingers crossed. I'm expecting end march delivery.

How long from being built does it take to get the car? Remember reading before on here but can't find it. Luckily port of Tyne is near the dealer and their warehouse is over the road so quite quick in that respect!

My car is in Grimsby now, will be delivered to dealer on Thursday morning (at least I might avoid some of this awful weather) and the dealer will prep and let me pick up the car in the afternoon. I'm having the protection/etc left on the car, so it's booked in for a new car detail on Friday morning. :)

Guys - thanks for so much for the advice and the guidance. Hopefully putting pen to paper on a deal tomorrow!!

Went to a dealer near my office today and basically said what deal I wanted. Got the the usual about A3/S3 not allowed to be discounted. After about 15 minutes of me explaining exactly what I wanted and that was prepared to sign in next few days things swung my way. Basically give me a guaranteed equity for my A1 and from the looks of it about £1250 off the car. This deal will hold to Monday so got weekend to think about it.

After doing the above I rang my local dealer (where I got my A1) and booked an appointment for tomorrow. Basically told the sales guy what deal I wanted etc and he pretty much said he could do it and said he might be able to sweet the deal some more as we would be "renewing" our finance agreement with another Audi. Apparently this means much better deals!

First dealer was build week 8 with delivery mid may - dealer I am seeing tomorrow has build week 6! They have a good allocation so I could have the car end of March!! Just hope they can do the same finance deal as the first dealer I saw.

Hopefully ill be updating you tomorrow once the deal is signed. Thanks again guys.

Also spec your car on orange wheels get the discount price and print it off and take it to your dealer, see if you can get some more off

I've just seen what I think was an Estoril blue SQ5 in Waitrose (where else..) car park.

Interesting to see it at night and in the dark and rain.

It was still showing lovely patches of highlighted blue.

Loved the comment from the bloke who said it was driving style not the car that induced the understeer.... Rose tinted spectacles methinks. I know the car is flawed in standard trim, but I'm going to go with the deal and resolve the new s3 into a real all wheel drive weapon.
Well, I'd reevaluate those comments if I were you. Based on your own comments, your driving style is the reason for your corner-exit understeer -- pinning the throttle on corner exit with steering lock dialed in is a no-no on any AWD car if you are interested in going fast. I would suggest some HPDE instruction.

Paperwork now signed - 8% discount direct to dealer, no other parties or paper-waving involved. No build week yet, should get that early next week.

Just been informed that my car is with the dealer. They are going to get in touch on Monday to arrange collection.

Kinda excited now.....just need to get off of this oil rig.

is this with Aberdeen Audi, and how does this compare with your original build week? I was quoted build week 10 when ordering late October, I've been trying to get an update from them, but no reply so far!

Agreed, as with any front wheel drive car, or bias to the front wheels, it is slow in fast out but not too much throttle mid corner. If it looks slow then you are probably doing it correctly...

It sure is! I ordered Sep10th. Build week was week 50 but it got put forward to week 49. So far it is bang on schedule. Who are you dealing with? I'm dealing with Scott. he was in the used bit when I looked at an RS3 but a couple of hours later I ordered a new S3 off of him!

The whole dept seems to have been on holiday or something as I had to call for an update on build week and then never heard anything until I chased him and Donna again.

I ordered with Fraser on 27th October. I emailed Donna for a build week update before Christmas but didn't get a reply before I left for the hols, I'll chase for an update next week once everything is back to normal.

I'm just curious if my "early April" delivery will come forwards as it has for a few. At this stage, it looks like by ordering aprox 6 weeks later than you means delivery an extra 6-7 weeks wait, ie maybe 12 weeks from now!!

Or pick your line correctly and the use of the throttle and brake

Ordered my s3 saloon yesterday. Apparently the first person at my dealer to do so. Got a cracking deal, a discount of £2500, rock bottom APR and a fair price on my current s3. Ordered it in Daytona grey, was tempted to get estoril blue but the look of it seems to change an a lot depending on the levels of sunlight. Got it specced with:

Advance key
Bang and olufsen
Tech pack with audi connect
Comfort pack with parking plus
Folding and heated mirrors
Tyre pressure sensor
Non smoking pack.

No build week or anything yet, but been suggested April/May time which was slightly longer than it would be for the sportback.

Nice spec, As Daytona is nominally a s-line only colour, assume you have had to spec this colour as an exclusive ca£2000 option?

I was told by the dealer that I could order it in that colour. I asked that very question but the guy went and checked and it seemed to be ok. I really wouldn't want to pay £2k for a paint colour. If I was going to do that I would probably have gone for midnight blue anyway. Hope they don't ring me and tell me I can't have it!

Midnight Blue?? Don't know that colour apart from Ford circa 1970's

Made an order change.

Now it is
S3 Sportback
S-Tronic Transmission
Estoril blue
Technology pack
Comfort pack
Front and rear parking (audi parking system plus)
Led interior light pack
Led headlights
Audi sound system

Waiting for my actual confirmed build date. Might not be week 7.

Whatever date it is will be too far away :crying:

Ok guys - after 6 months of lurking and reading all 111 pages of this thread back to front I've finally put an order in! :yahoo:

Thanks for all the really good posts. It really does help massively to make the right decision on a deal and options etc.

Managed to get £1650 discount and cracking guaranteed equity deal on my A1. The sales guy is hoping to amend a week 8 build slot to my spec. If he can't do that maybe week 11 with delivery mid April. He did say that almost every order they put in is being brought forward a week or two so hoping that will happen for me. Also found out that they had massive issues allocating build slots in Q3 / Q4 2013 where Audi UK were hitting their factory allocation numbers. Might explain why some early orders are taking so long to get a build date?

Very excited. However the Mrs is not happy that the only topic of conversation will be about the S3 for the next 3 months!

Three colours from the wheels I've seen so far. Personally i like the Polished Gunmetal, they're similar to the Standard S3 wheels i think.

at around £500 for 18s, plus shipping not too bad!

Hyper polished are the ones I'm looking at as I think they will look best with Estoril.

Have you found a UK supplier for these? As I have been looking and only found in French??

Nah only 2 companies in France.

Agree the hyper silver would look good especially with dark colours

I love how the silver wing mirrors pop on the estoril!
