Just got my caps and they don't seem to fit right coolant cap feels loose and oil cap sits squint I have a 59 plate s3 gutted just spent £40 on them from porshe themselves so doubt they will take them back :(

Hate to ask, but did you not check fitment beforehand with other potentials, R8 versions fit fine.

might be wrong but I am sure they need to modded to fit, the ones on ebay are modded normally if I am thinking about the same thing.

I've recently changed my coolant cap. I've bought another OEM one. At first it too felt like it was sitting loose but after a few days I've noticed it was fit.
I'm opening the coolant bottle once every 2-3 days to top it up due to a leak in the radiator and I was able to notice that at first seemed loose but in time felt tighter.
Give it a few days, maybe it is the same with yours.

I done a search on it and alot come up with people buying the porshe ones as they were a straight fit instead of adjusting the r8 ones ? I've maybe got mistaken somewhere and maybe looked at a search from the older s3 or tt forum or something, wish I had just got the r8 one now awww well ill get one ordered at some point I suppose

Thanks for replys think its me being silly and not paying attention think they fit older s3 ill see if they will take them back if not teach me to pay attention next time haha

The coolant cap fits fine. They are a little bit lose but the main bit that keeps all the coolant in is fine and seals. That's the important bit.

The oil caps are fine but there is some fitment issues on the 2.0tfsi and CR diesels that I heard of.
You can split the oil cap open and rotate, same sort of mod as the R8 caps.

The Porsche caps sit lower and are cheaper than the R8 caps. Also less bling if that's not your thing.

Does anybody have the part numbers for these to see if the main dealer is cheaper than eBay! Thanks

I've got both sitting in my house, put them on the car decided I likes the r8 one better so removed them after about 2 seconds still in box etc make me an offer an there yours lol

Could you post both part numbers before you sell them please - thanks :)

My car is 59 plate ok I think there's a post somewhere if you google it with the part numbers I'll try remember and post them tho

Why would you fit a coolant cap from a Porsche to your A3 in the first place?

I bought mine from awesome for my 10 plate S3 and the coolant cap fitted fine but the oil cap was about 1/4 turn too far round.
I stripped mine and modded it to sit perfect following the audi R8 mod instructions.
They look the part but crap quality.

Got mine from Awesome too (via ebay) and I have the same issue with the coolant cap

Too all who are after part numbers here they are and how they look!

Just don't think its big enough. (Ha ha)
When running engine cover it doesn't sit high enough.

Finally got them on and think they look good!
see what people say about coolant being loose but it's after it's clicked into place so il keep an eye on it after it's been pressurised!

Actually looks pretty good with the two of them!

Just got my R8 oil cap for the S3 and it seems to tighten too far round and off centre, is this normal?

Think the r8 cap does that, can be fixed by dismantling and modding, there's a thread on here somewhere!
