Deposit on first Sprint Blue S3, anyone recognise it?

Well those figures are handy as I ran the quote for anything over a 26% increase and nobody would touch me! Still hoping for a cheaper quote once I phone around tomorrow morning though. Just super excited to see it now, tomorrow can't come fast enough :yahoo:

I went with prestige insurance (site sponsor) with my A3, and got a half decent quote, only a bit more than lowest comparison site. But they dont charge any extra for MODS and remaps, which i took advantage of, and i think they even add on extra on your car value if written off

Also im 23, and with points on my license.

you need 1 years NCB min to go with prestige,

I love those seats you have in that one, very rare and very nice!

I cant believe the S3 isn't dear to insure considering its a insurance group 18 on old money. cost me £17 more this year to insure than my MK5 golf GTI.

Doesn't look like anyone's suggested Greenlight for insurance yet - so I'd give them a buzz too; looked after me and my modded S3 very well.

Congrats on the car, best colour too :).

Yes, very rare combo - s-tronic and buckets - took me 2 years to find mine! Mind you, it is quite pricey - I paid that 2 years ago with 17k miles on it for a later car (59 plate).

only just seen the asking price, does seem a bit steep, or is that about right for the spec?

Paid just under the asking on that for mine, its 2009 with 27K miles same spec, s-tronic, buckets etc however it was from Audi, so 12 month warranty, GAP insurance included and just had an MOT & Full service on it etc.

Furlong1909 id say it is possibly a little steep, based on what I and nluk have paid. The mods on it make no difference to the price a garage should have it up for.. Considering its not from a main dealer and has 40k miles its at least a grand or so overpriced.

Just put a deposit down on a sprint blue 2009 S3 which I'm going to see on Thursday

I personally would've gone to see the car first and used the fact that it is modified as a negotiating tool and then left a deposit if the price was right.

tbh the condition of the car was immaculate lol

Its Nathans car off here... Cars sound, but obviously OP didnt know that 1st... Lucky that way... Otherwise I agree with Dave... But again the car might have been gone.. 6 n half dozen that 1

Car is spot on. Was my car and there was no reason for me to sell it other than I fell in love with the S5 that they had so I traded her.

The S3 is immaculate. The OP know the little things that are wrong so he can use them as ammo.

He also knows what the garage gave for the car. At the end of the day, it's a business and they have to make a profit.

The car has a good spec and I agree, mods should not affect the price.

If I was to sell it privately, I would have put it up at that asking price and hoped for £19k

Sounds like i got a bargain then on mine, especially from a dealer!

The car is in the driveway safe and sound! It was "priced to sell" but got a few quid off at £19750. It's immaculate inside and out, I probably did pay a bit extra for the mods when they shouldn't add value, but good god it can shift! The thought of the money I spent was quickly forgotten and replaced with a huge smile on my face!

Getting it insured was a nightmare, all the companies I had quotes for (Admiral, Elephant etc) had a big technical problem and couldn't process any quotes or policy changes. Ended up going through several managers and supervisors sharing my displeasure about being stuck 4 hours away, ended up going with a 24hr temporary insurance and they agreed to reimburse the cost of it :)

Long day but totally worth it, even managed 30mpg on the drive back up!

They've sorted their problem with the computers now, still didn't manage to beat another quote i had though!

wish i had 20k to spend on a car at 21, bet insurance is going to sting you so badly!

I phoned about 12 o'clock and they said the system would be back up at 1. 1 o'clock came and went so phoned again and they said 3 this time. Went off on a bit of a rant as I'd been in the garage a good while by this point but came away with a days free insurance so can't complain too much.

I still have 2 months left on a policy that I had for my old A3 that I haven't cancelled yet, so the plan is to hopefully switch the A3 for the S3 and pay the extra for the 2 months. Then I'll have a years no claims which will hopefully help bring the quotes down!

Hope so mate, just as a reference I've done various quotes for a while now and when i turn 21 in 10 days time an s3 with 1 yr no claims which is standard i must add comes to £980 with an £850 excess. i also live in a low risk area and the lowest quotes were from admiral. best of luck though haha
