Hi All,

New owner of an 8P 58 plate S3 Sportback.

Thinking of getting a private plate... mainly so the average joe bloggs, doesn't know the age of the car.

Pictures below, feel free to comment.

Sorry for the poor Quality, I promise I'll post some better ones up when I get a chance.

Hi jamie, welcome to audi-sport.net. Where you located? Have a read of the faqs thread in the A3 8P section, lots of useful info in there. Enjoy the forum. :) x

Hi Sandra,

I'm located in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

I've already been browsing the site for a few days reading up on various faq's etc and the general rules and so on.

You all seem friendly and helpful, and most of all lots of brilliant looking cars in the photo threads. ;-)

Ah ok good, must have been one of the first of the face lifts then possibly? There loads of wee things you can do to them if you are interested, just recently converted all of my interior lights to LED and it transforms the car! Hope you enjoy your stay.

At the moment I'm just happy for having such a nice car, makes a change from the car I previously had.

i used to own a vauxhall astra sri (2003) which tbh for 1.3k it lasted a whole two years and was still going strong with 116k miles on the clock.

I may change my mind in a few months and start adding a few subtle mods... :)

I have gone from an SRi to a A3 S-line. My Astra only has 35K on it and it was a nightmare, needed a clutch, and MFW.

Glad I got rid when I did.

Judging by the above it was probably either a 1.7 or 1.9 cdti.
Mine was a 1.8 z18xe petrol and as I said to be fair it was a solid car for two years with no major problems, also quite nippy for the age and engine size, I just wanted something newer, faster, better looking and 5 doors (as getting my daughter in the back of the 3dr astra was a nightmare lol.)
