Hi, I posted this in the A4 B7 posts and have had no replies please any info would be helpful.

Morning All,

I have fitted the cruise and dis stalks to my 2006 A4 avant s line with multi function steering wheel and with Mike Fosters help (thank you) we managed to enable the dis function and I earthed out pin one to get rid of the washer level warning which is great. The problem I have now is I can not enable the cruise, when I go into 01-engine then into coding II- 11 and put in the activation code 11463-cruise activation and then click DO IT an error message comes up saying,

Login code not accepted by controller!

You will have to turn the ignition off
for a while before trying again.

Error22: Conditions not correct or request sequence error.

So not being a Vagcom guru i'm a bit stumped can anyone shed a bit of light on this for me as I've obviously missed a step out or have some thing missing.

Also for info when I go into 16-steering wheel then into meas. blocks-08 I can see that the car and Vagcom can see the stalk is fitted because when I move the stalk it says cruise switch on or off then it says resume etc so it does see it.

Cheers all,

does the long coding helper come up in VCDS? I was trying to code an A3 few weeks back and it wouldnot accept/change until I changed it in long coding helper.

Long coding is something I've not read up on much and what little bit I have makes me nervous cheers for the reply I will look into it

Long coding helper is what we used to change the steering module coding. As far as I can remember LCH did not appear in engine control module. However, we can have another look if you want.

Have you got your own cable now ?

Hi Mike, I've got the loan of a vag-com over Christmas. I thought long code was the longer codes that look more like e.99.ef.32.84 etc rather than the 11463 etc.

Rick.

Hi Rick - the long coding helper appears when you click 'coding' in the
control module. That then brings up all the information about the
hexadecimal codes you refer to so that you can tick the relevant boxes like
we did in steering module.

As far as I can remember there is no 'coding' box in the engine module page.

Did you check for the control cable ?

Cheers

Mike

If you ticked boxes in steering 16 on a B6/7, then that must be the wrong module as its short coding, not long coding for that module/chassis, so a digit change would be needed, not a tick in a box.

Sorry Nige - my bad. I didn't tick boxes in the steering module, I changed the numbers from 02002 to 02042 to change to 'with cruise control'.

I was merely trying to help Rick by explaining the Long Coding Helper and how it describes the functions of the hexadecimal notations.

My problem with his car is that the engine module will not accept the 11463 coding as he describes in his first post.

Do I need to go somewhere else first to remove the cause of error 22 ? The current engine code is 0000072

I have just fitted cruise control to my Audi A3 2.0 tfsi 2006.

Can someone tell me where I can get it coded, 20 mile radius of Knutsford Cheshire if possible.

Many Thanks
