Hi guys, after having my atmospheric catch can fitted for nearly 12 month post remap about a month ago it has started to blow oil out of the filter on the top of the catch can. From observation from drive to drive I have noticed it only seems to blow oil out heavily under hard driving. The car did get a service just before the remap with new filters and oil but I didn't fill the oil myself although an experienced car technician did. I have checked the dip stick and it is level with the full mark. My only conclusions are that a. It has too much crankcase pressure, b. there is too much oil, c. It's coming from the head.

Has anybody else had a problem like this before? The car is a S3 apy engine with 66,000 miles on it with a custom catch can that I bought off andrew@ald. It has 2 19mm inlets on the side and a top atmospheric breather.

thanks matt

Ano its a daft question but is the can full?

Its not a custom

Just baffles added to a BSH catch can

Where is it mounted in the bay?

Ahh thought it was a custom can Andrew. It's mounted on the side of the battery box at the front of the bay.

Your Bad luck continuing Matt?

You must of upset it, when you keep looking at RS4's.... Lol

No matey it's not that it's been doing it for about a month now, last weekend I took off the coolant temperature sensor housing which turned out to be where the leaking coolant was coming from and at the same time I cleaned all my TIP and heat shield and since then I have been driving steady so no oil has blown out but last night I decided to give it a bit and once I pulled up I had a look under the bonnet ant the TIP was covered in oil spray :(
