This has got me thinking...has anyone seen any other stats (magazines, official data) in the new S3 like 30-70, 0-100, braking times etc? I can only find 0-60 and was interested?

No idea, must think I'm a valued Audi customer
What driving mode does everyone drive their S3's in most of the time? Comfort, dynamic, auto, efficiency or individual?
I read that comfort is more ideal for longer journeys.
You won't like that I placed my order on November 17th and I am locked in build week 3. Delivery 1st March.
I guess the dealer had prebooked a slot and it was simply a case of changing it.
7% discount.
At least I've got a good discount Kenny!
Looking forward to the results from this. Be interesting to see what difference it is compared to mine!
Ok it made 301hp and 295ftlbs of torque. It's on statllers Facebook page.
Did Paul do a review?

Did they say they were doing any development work?

There was also figures for Megane 265 Cup and Focus ST. Both slower than the Germans. I would have loved to have seen what an S-Tronic S3 would do as think it would not be too far behind the Merc. The Merc's times were achieved with its launch control function and the writer also suggests the GTI's times were done the same way.
While the website was down, I managed to pick up my car and have already put nearly 300 miles on it in the last day.
Overall I really like the car. Lods of good things and only a couple of things I would change.
I can see how this car will be a real pleasure to own, both luxury and ease to drive along with big smiley face fun spirited driving.
I've run out of images to look at on my google searches. Need more photos and info to tide me over to 1st March!!
Trying to upload the pics using photobucket as slideshow, hope it works

Best mpg so far on a long run up to Lake District from leeds via A-Roads and some motorway was 39mpg over about 135 miles.
My average mpg per tank of fuel has now edged up to about 35mpg from 31mpg when new, S3 has now done 2,300 miles and the fuel consumption has got significantly better from new.
Using cruise control at a steady 70mph on the motorway you get about 38mpg, and I regularly see 37mpg on 30/40 mile trips with some bits of fast driving. I can beleive the Audi claimed 40mpg combined....but you will need to cruise for long periods at 60 I would say and no S3 type driving
As with all cars cold running kills the fuel consumption....let it warm up before you hit that throttle. Communting in stop start traffic gets the fuel consumption down to 30mpg +/-. Hooligan driving on the open road also 30mpg or less.
So what would you change?

Little things so far that I havnt got used to. The arm rest doesn't seem to return to the previous location when you access the box underneath.
The boot carpet protector isnt really that great, I'll put a seperate article on this elsewhere, it it something that some people might benefit from knowing its positives and negatives
I havnt managed to get the seat in a good position yet, still need to play about I think,
First time I tried voice commands it seemed to only be for the phone book, again I need to play about with this
The warning sticker on the passenger visor. For any reason that health & safety should be banned, that would be it, and why both sides
Drive select seems to be a bit of a faff, press once and it seems to wake up, and then tell you what its on, then lets you move through them, not exactly quickly. I was kind of hoping it would work like the skip next track on music. But I can understand why it just cant skip to a whole new drive style setting as easy as skipping a music track. Maybe an expection thing there, or maybe again just not used to it.
You use the left and right on the volume knob to skip tracks, think I prefer the more traditional two buttons.
No engine temperature indicator
They are all little niggles and more things I can get used to. But please dont think they ditract from the car overall. The luxury feal is stunning on every details and part. From the lined glove box, qulity controls and dials, all the way to the boot. The engine perfromance has loads of fun, couldnt believe just how nice it it on the motorway to drive. Road handling for normal driving is really comfortable. The LED lights are fantastic, and not just the light from them, but also the feeling of safety when you indicate, good for other drivers to see your intentions.
I have only given it a couple of spirited drives or full presses on the accelerator. The torque is noticable, the growl of the engine and parp when changing gears is fun, and the power at all levels is certainly there, both setting off from standstill or gong from 50 - 70 on a motorway sliproad to merge in with safety and ease but also with the car not running away.
I'll see how it keeps going, the MPG isnt to bad, 32 mpg over 250 mile return trip mostly motorway, effieciency mode is a bit wierd when it goes into coasting, I am sure the engine parps as it kind of switches off. The auto start stop, hold assist and the Stronic are a dream, seems a slow press to stop doesnt switch off the engine, but a firner press cuts the engine, but a press on the accelerator and its on and setting of in a blink of an eye.
Just one final word of caution, remember that when the car is in hold assist mode the gren A, dont think about pressing the accelerator pedal so you can hear then engine rev a little.

I've bought another set of s3 alloys that will be wrapped in Michelin alpines for our winter period. They'll get me up the Shee, the Gorm and the Alps this and the next 10 winters. Chains in the obit for the Haute Savoie on requirement It's not the width, it's the compound and pattern that matter. I wil also fit the Quaife diff and HFA diff control to improve the torque split and drive ability......
