A3 S line delivery date¿?

Mine was around 3-5 days as it shipped the Tuesday after but never started getting built till the Wednesday

Do we know when and how often the boats leave? My car has been built but dealer said it would be about 3 weeks which takes us to Christmas Eve, if it takes that long then I will not be getting it before Christmas, will have to wait till after New Year.

I think it's just 1 sailing a week although don't quote me on that. You have to take into account that weather windows can affect sailing times as well as frequency.

Yeh, with this weather today im sure there will be no sailings at all! in scotland and its hit us pretty bad.

Yeah, pretty bad. Work at Aberdeen harbour so going to be a day of watching cranes stay still :(

To Grimsby I think there's a delivery every 2-3 days, to Tyne and sheerness I think there's 1 a week, check marinetraffic :) although coming up to Christmas I know there is a 2 week shutdown my dealer told me so I'm lucky my build week came forward otherwise I wouldn't of been seeing it till the middle of January ! It's all luck of the draw but average 3-4 weeks from build week to handover .. Nearer 3 weeks though .. Hope this helps

Thanks! Keep checking marinetraffic but not sure what port it is going too and plus the site just confuses me must be the dumb blonde kicking in ha! Do you know how long the cars take to get to the actual port of emden after getting built? Car should be in the country before Christmas but its whether they can get all the stuff done and get someone to deliver it all the way up to the west coast of scotland just before Christmas.

Where is your dealer based? Scotland? If so I would guess the car would come in to Tyne. So go here:
TYNE Port details and statistics - AIS Marine Traffic
and then regularly check vessels in port and also expected arrivals on the left of that page. Click on each vessel and see if it is a designated vehicle carrier and that it has come from Emden. If you find one then MAYBE your car is on it. Usually takes up to a week to get to Emden from the factory but I don't know whether you are in the zone to expect your car to be shipping yet.

Im getting it through a lease company which is White Water Contract Hire which are based in Kent so I dont know how they order it or where it comes in!

Just a few pics of our new car. Haven't really had a decent drive yet but love it so far.

Ours is set for build week 50 which I think is 9th December then 4 weeks to delivery. 2.0TDI S-Line Sportback, Phantom Black Pearl Paint, Black Biathlon Cloth / Pearl Nappa Leather, S-Line Suspension, 18" x 7.5J '10 Spoke' design Titanium Matt Alloy wheels, Privacy Glass, Bang & Olufsen sound system... Can't wait. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the new ones on order that are being delivered soon... :)

Ours has just been confirmed as out of the factory, due to Christmas it's due for delivery on 10th January.

Mmm, as my car is only in production this week I'm probably not going to see it until nearer the end of January..

Mine got built last Tuesday and it's at the port waiting to be shipped. It's going to be tight to get it before xmas!

Probably Sheerness, North Kent...

I think thats where mine is getting shipped to, there is a boat on its way to Sheerness from Emden today due in at 6pm. Fingers crossed both of ours is on it!

Any chance of finding out if your car has been shipped yet? 1 boat just arrived at Sherness and another on its way :)

Your dealer should be able to tell you. They have direct access to Audi main computer system which is constantly updated with the position of the car.

This may be a silly question but I just ordered an A3 sportback on Saturday and the 'Delivery Time' on the forms says 31st March. Is the build week something you get at a later stage and is this date just a best guess or something?Cheers

31 March 2014 is week 14. Allowing for a couple of weeks for the Christmas factory closure, I think 13 weeks from order to build is a bit optimistic so I would assume at this stage that it is just a guess. I understood it was closer to 20 weeks at the moment which would make it early May.

Also be aware that the factory changes to MY2015 at the beginning of June. Your dealer should know late March or early April what the changes will be for MY2015. If there is a change that you would like, you may be able to delay the build a few weeks otherwise the car will be as described in the current brochure.

One thing that does spring to mind is that from 1 November 2014 all new cars must be fiited with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System so I assume this will become standard on all A3s for MY2015 starting in June 2014.

Very interesting h5djr, never knew about this. I have ordered the tyre pressure monitoring so if i can get it for free nearer the time it would be good. Be great if memory seats were available on MY2015...Thanks

Yes the memory seats is the one option I would like them to add. You can already get electric seats so I wouldn't have thought adding the memory function was that difficult.

Audi offer the following from the A4 upwards but it costs £1,430 whilst just the electric seats costs £765, but it sounds very useful adjusting the seats and mirrors from the appropriate key:

Convenience package. Comprises electric front seats with memory function on driver’s side, electric lumbar
support for both front seats, and folding and auto-dimming door mirrors with memory function. Two different
positions can be stored, adapting seat longitudinal position, seat height, seat inclinations and backrest angle
as well as the exterior mirror settings. The positions are assigned to the corresponding car key, and the system
automatically adopts the relevant settings when the car is unlocked via the remote control. Mirrors also include
kerb view function which lowers the passenger side mirror for increased visibility whilst reversing.

Had memory seats on first A5 and A7. Waste of time and IMHO a pain to live with even when 2 drivers, far slower than a quick manual adjust. I would rather spend my money on thinks I value like B&o , pan roof and tech pack etc.

Would order this big time... Not massively into a perfect sounding radio

My wife's car has memory seats and they're great. She is a lot shorter than me so we hit the appropriate memory button as we get in and all adjusts in 5 seconds, including height and tilt, and best of all the mirrors too. Without memory I reckon might as well go non-electric entirely.

A lot of the faff with shorter people and electric chairs is the faff involved moving the seat back to get out of the car . Failure to move seats back is commonplace and usually results in scuffed and damaged edging to drivers seat.
If the car has them I put up with it but no way would I pay for what I consider to be an annoyance at best.

Yes, I'm with you on that. Failure to move the seats back also results in scuffed and damaged knees when I try to get in! But you seemed to be saying earlier that the memory feature was a PITA but really it seems that, like me, you're not a fan of electric at all.

Electric adjustment of seats just seems pointless. Slower than manual , a pain in Cabriolets and 2 doors getting people in back. The memory feature works but never seemed 'quite right ' so whilst many electric gizmos are fine I avoid electric seats!

Just been told by admin that mine is on the transporter for delivery today! :)

I would have taken the electric seats if there was a memory button, but since it's tied to the key it's useless to me. I sometimes have other people driving the car but with the same key, so would be pointless.
