Hi all,
Huge thanks to Rick (PilotAudi) for his advice & help !
Also big thanks to all the people who helped me with making up my mind (on my thread) - It's good to know that I'm getting into such a top community.
Here's what it's really about - Specs !

A3 Sportback S line COD, Daytona Grey
Comfort Pack
Hold Assist
Interior Lighting pack.
SD GPS
Deletion of engine technology
Standard (Biathlon) seats
Sport Suspension
We got quite a decent deal that I'm really happy with :) It's also quite possible that I'll be collecting the car on my birthday :D

What a birthday party it'll be, then!!! Congratulations!

Hi all,
It's good to know that I'm getting into such a top community.

This forum is one of the best things that goes with owning a A3!

What did you think of the other suspension/wheel size combinations.

@luadr - it sure it will be ! We'll see how does Biathlon cloth go with birthday cake ^^ However if I'm able to pick the car up few weeks before my b-day - I don't think I'll be able to resist :)

It was allrigt - I could feel the road quite well and steering was quite accurate, but it wasn't too harsh or uncomfortable (Mrs agreed), I wouldn't personally go for S line suspension - I think that Sports one is quite a good balance for me. Bear in mind that I test drove a 3 door version (according to Fragup's advice the same setting on Sportback is slightly softer). I love the dashboard - it's really well thought through, and feels very modern (that's one of the reasons why I didn't go for Golf). Btw does anyone know how to switch off the indicators (except them going off when you straighten the steering wheel) - on Corsa D I just have to nudge it to switch it off.

Yes buy a BMW - they are never switched on!!

On my current A3 they either go off as I straighten the wheel or I just nudge the lever with my finger.

Nope - Luckily I don't have a need to supplement certain inadequacies with a large BMW :]

Easy guys, it doesn't get much worse than calling someone a tory. Btw I also drive a motorcycle and I notice more and more planks in large Audis driving like *******- one very nearly made me crash into a car in front of him (he suddenly decided to switch lanes while I was filtering through traffic). Hopefully this is only temporary and those 'kings of the road' will switch to a different brand.

Agree with you T . I don't see the point of huge great 4x4s for 99% of the population.

When I worked in Germany I always used to laugh at my boss - he had a S Class and usually needed someone to help him & stop or check traffic when he was driving out. It's like going shopping into town with a lorry. I remember last year there was a protest in Bristol against 4x4s taking too much precious parking space (and thus being antisocial) - activists put Asbos onto 'Chelsea tractors' :)

Nice spec, quite similar to mine, where you tempted by the Audi upgrade sound system £255 ? is great value and centre speaker helps with the blue tooth phone calls as makes it a lot clearer.C.O.D. Engine rocks ! Have done 600 miles now so can open it up a bit now, i went out last night and it can certainly shift for a little 1.4 petrol !Would be an amazing birthday present !

Good point Frag. I expect Anarch could alter if he wanted to.

IMO the standard sound system is the one poor quality feature on the A3 and definitely worth upgrading if you can stretch to it. Would help resale too.

I already got my way with S line and Daytona grey, I'm afraid if I'd mention the sound system my wife could become violent ^^ Besides I'm not a car audiophile myself, but will think about it and can always (up to 4 weeks) change the order :)

My wife likes to play music in the car when she uses my A3 rather than her own A1. Usually when she taking out some elderly passengers as her's is a 3-door compared with my Sportback. So I don't think there would be a problem with me specifying the Audi Sound System.

Out of interest what delivery time have you been quoted for the car.

Delivery is supposed to be around mid April.I'll probably add the Audio system in January :) is it really worth it over the stock sound system ?

If you can squeeze a bit more discount off Mark (or Alan) I'd be thinking B&O but *** is 250 B&O 750..

In my opinion yes, Audi upgrade is worth it, decent value for money, B&O I think would be amazing but is quite a lot extra, but you have to stop somewhere, it's a really nice spec you have anyway without changing. The improvement in phone calls with the extra centre speaker is worth bearing in mind even if your not mad on your music, and is a great excuse for justifying it to the mrs, worked for me anyway !

Damn a bit more discount always sounds nice :) but not sure whether it's doable. Fragup - I don't think my wife will buy that (we don't usually take calls while driving) :)

Just wondered why the 4 weeks? Is that before you place the order?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear :) I meant that I can change the order up to 4 weeks before the build week :)

I've placed the order 2 days ago and the wait is already killing me. How did you manage to get through the few long months of waiting ?

When is yours coming ? We ordered our S3 SB about 80 days ago and still have about 70 to go... Looking on the bright side.. Over half way ;-)

Well I think I'll have to wait a few weeks before I get the build week, but the estimated collection was around mid April.

I had to wait nearly 4 months, it soon goes. Get your 'fix' on this forum as it is worth the wait 3 weeks in and still loving the car.

I've added Audi audio pack to the order today, and I've found out that it has been allocated with build week 6 :D
