I know it's been covered loads of times in the past but i've never seen anyone come up with a definative answer..... my car is making quite a raquet on tickover but as soon as i touch the loud pedal it goes away... logic is telling me it's the dual mass flywheel starting to let me know it's on it's way out so i'm thinking maybe the time is coming to change the clutch and flywheel.... but what to put in ? Everything seems to be going for a singlemasss conversion as they are a lot cheaper but i've heard rumours they rattle on idle... is this true ??? have you got one fitted ? and can you comment ?... the Engine is an AVF code 1.9TDi and the car an Avant Quattro so it's six speed and a larger flywheel/clutch.... what would be the best way for a home DIY mechanic to do this job ??? from the top taking the engine out or from underneath removing the gearbox... I've done it the later way on and old 2wd coupe and it was damn hard getting the gearbox back on on my own so i'm thinking engine out is going to be easiest ....any comments and tips much apreaciatedregards Mark
