Well the MAF is ****** & drinking mote than a 19 year old lad on his 1st night in Ibiza!! There's a local VW Breakers near me that has just about everything so I'm gonna grab 1 from there. Engine is a standard 1.8t with a KO3S at the min but will very shortly be getting the main bit's & bob's replaced I.E. FMIC, Decat, Exhaust etc. So what MAF should I buy that will match the mod's that will be going on but will also run ok on the Car as it is at the min without messing things up?! Or is it a case of buy a normal size 1 for now & then have to replace it again in a few weeks when I do the other stuff?

Only need to upsize the MAF tube if you are going for a K03 hybrid or K04 sized turbo.. if sticking to a K03/K03s then std MAF is all you need

What engine code is your car? no point in buying a MAF from a breakers tbh... they are a service part IMO and its false economy to buy anything other than new

<tuffty/>

Nice one mate, helpful as ever :thumbsup: It's a AUM, I'll have a look at the price on a new 1 then but the bit's I've been buying for it the last couple of week's has left me about broke already :sadlike: Lil bit of a build Thread coming soon, he takes the 1st steps onto that slippery, slidey slope :eyebrows::w00t::sadlike:

WOW!!!!! Just looked on Ebay & these things are just over £20 new........the guy at the breakers wants £25 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You going to want an original bosch unit, not a cheap boschinese number

Right, I see that you can get a Bosch 1 for around £80 but also their listed for around £200+. Are the cheaper 1s defo gonna be genuine Bosch items? Also, how bad are these cheaper copies? Is it that they don't work or just don't last to long?

Its a fact they don't often work correctly from new.

Cheers for the answers chaps! The £80 Ebay 1s will defo be Bosch items then yes?!

Ask the seller dude if they're OEM Bosch and brand new items - it's not like we have the link to check it out for you so can't defo confirm if they are :think:

New genuine ones usually go for about £80 on the bay..unlucky if you get a copy at that price..
