Long time since I've been on here but I'm after some opinions, I'm wanting to stage2 revo my 1.9pd 115 currently stage 1 for a year no haste what so ever. Now I've got a list of upgrades I need to do prior to have a stable stage 2 one includes the clutch. I've got a torque fast stage 2 clutch in mind at £230 ish. Anyone used these or recommend a better/stronger clutch?Cheers jd

Being a B7 I assume yours is 115bhp stock in which case stage 1 got it around 150bhp, with injectors that'll increase 170bhp as it will be the same as the 130bhp B6, with a BV43 turbo from a 170bhp 2.0tdi on top your looking at around 200bhp, if it's a hybrid turbo then maybe a little more but with a compromise on reliability. So the the answer depends on what your getting, regardless it's probably best to stay well clear from anything named "torque fast" especially if your car's 5 speed.

Yeah mine was 115 but revo mapped it to a safe 167hp stage 1 :) on stock everything. Now I'm wanting some more hp I think my aims 200-230 over all but not wanting to change turbo's for a long time. Stage 2 should safely take it to 180-190 according to the guys down the road at LVS also my mate works there. They said all I need to do is update the clutch, intercooler and get a 3'-3.5' decat back. To achieve 180-190hpThen to get 200-230 I'd be looking at new v6 turbo and pd 130 injectors. But for now I'm trying to find a decent clutch that's going to take the torque, what makes you say stay away from torque fast?

115 can not map over 150 without injectors, sounds like your getting done. Not much point changing the clutch unless yours is slipping, not allot of point in the intercooler and the bigger decat exhaust won't do much without a bigger turbo. This "LVS" has obviously seen the size of your wallet.

Edit: but feel free to prove me wrong :icon_thumright:.

Edit 2: Forgot to mention the clutch is also a bad idea as I'd assume it's a single mass which will be fine for a higher powered 6 speed car but if yours is 5 speed chances are the gear box won't play ball for long and will die a premature death... then you'll need a serious sized wallet to shell out for a 6 speed gear box and all that jazz.

I do t know where your getting your information from but it's wrong. Revo stage 1 basic map on these BRB engines adds 50hp and 50lbft of torque. Map tech also push out the same figures on stage 1. Then darkside push a little more I do believe. I don't know when you last had a stage 1 map but sounds like it's over 2 years ago. Tech and techniques have changed. As for the clutch I didn't know there was any difference like that I thought that was the flywheel? Mine is duel mass as std in a 5 speed box but LVS recommend a single mass flywheel when going up to 200hp mark.As the the intercooler well it's going to give better cooling been bigger and be more responsive under foot. And the decat backs going to help spool the turbo up quicker ... Take James renshaws audi a4 for a spin now it's stage 2-3 with all this done to it ;) say it makes no difference. :pDarkside had his on the rolling road for 3 days solid and made the lousiest 3" decat back they have ever heard on a diesel (swamps the v8 noise it's that loud under load)

Guessing your getting this all from the Internet as the Revo website states aprox 35-50bhp after a map, Darkside or any other company (which probably wouldn't state, but if they were) stating more than 150bhp on a 115bhp B7 is delusional without injectors, if your looking at Darkside's site I can only assume you mean this car Audi A4 Avant 1.9 8v TDI (AWX)... which has GTB2260VK turbo with 130bhp injectors :lmfao:. Never heard of James Renshaw but after a quick google I assume he owns a B8 which will have a different engine and in terms of the noise it made... haha... sounding like a v8 doesn't matter unless it had v8 figures. A decat will undoubtedly make the turbo spool quicker but it's not advisable on the 1.9tdi's turbo as it's small and will overspool fairly easily. If you want realistic performance figures with mods on this engine then look at some of Darkside's other cars as they have made a fair few decent ones although as I say they will all have injectors and turbo's on top, tdi club's good too and there's also a fair few people in the b5 section with decent builds. As I say feel free to prove me wrong but yours will undoubtedly still hit around 150bhp. For the record I own a 130bhp B6 with a BV43 pushing an easy 200bhp, clutch is slipping ridiculously so it'll be getting Sachs organic clutch and staying dual mass which is recommended as single mass destroys 5 speed boxes. That would be my recommendation if you had turbo and injectors but with what your doing I'd say wait and see if it slips then if so replace with the original unless your going to do anything worthwhile in which case go for the same clutch as me for (A REAL) 200bhp or single mass and 6 speed for anything more.

Why would i get it from the net when my mate works at LVS revo in lincoln just around the corner? he runs a stage 2 bora 1.8t and my car leaves him upto 4th gear same with my misses dads scooby. call me a lier if you like but ive got more than 8 witnesses to both times we have played. my car tops out at 140mph with 1k revs to go but just doesn't have the HP to take it there. VXR's dont get away easy either... the std stage 1 map from revo does like you said stated on there site they say between 35-50 but they actually map 45 to be safe. knowing the guys down there, PAT, MAX and others allowed my car to be custom mapped rather than there generic map (bare in mind every car is different) if you cars not been looked after there less likely to map a power tune...113(technically + 50 = 163hp + fuel type to be mapped in adds 3-10hp dependent car condtion and fuel quality on my car been in good condition and run on the best oils and fuels since new. its able to hold the 167 hp no problem.anyhow im not getting into trying to prove my car is running what ive seen on the laptop while driving it. if you have no info on why you would avoid torque fast then im not interested in your points seems like you have something to prove but its not happening.

Lol Revo know more than what you do without a doubt. And I trust my mate who works there... Proof is In my car that's enough for me. But shall be on the dyno before and after map... Until then I'm finding a clutch that's going to handle the 350nm+of torqe...

If I lived closer I'd happily pay for a dyno run to either witness a mechanical miracle or have a laugh. You really need to start using a reputable tuning company and stop dreaming.

Lmao I'm using the most reputable tuning company out there... There based world wide you idiot... Not only do they hold the land speed record for a production car they have the highest rated maps out there... Do your homework :)

Revo is not tuning your car, the company is using a Revo map then abusing your wallet for all it's worth by throwing in things that you either don't need or will do more harm than good.

The turbo fitted on the 115Bhp engine is even smaller than the 110Bhp turbo, it has a smaller inducer and it's designed to run with back pressure. For your info, even the 110Bhp engine could not do more than 154Bhp and that's without emission regulations and restrictive exhaust/fueling maps ! If you think that your 115Bhp does 167 Bhp on stock hardware then the dyno is very, very optimistic ! I have been playing with cars for years and i do know what i am talking about ! The 228mm clutch would not last a day with all that torque needed to do 167Bhp, trust me, been there and got the T-shirt...

As above, wasn't referring to Revo. Your car physically cannot make those figures, FACT!!!

With your uber rare AMG replica(ebay porsche replica) wheels and now ridiculous bhp figures you're either incredibly gullible or just like telling stories.

Surely your expert tuners would recommend a clutch?

Just wanted to clarify that all dealers customise the settings within the Revo software files to suit the customers vehicles and requirements. Revo files have full adjust-ability for Fueling, Timing and Boost, they are not just Generic files. The dealer will take the vehicle out for data logging and set up individually on the road.

I live outside of Lincoln and have never heard of LVS. Most reputable tuner in Lincolnshire is Corten-Miller.

They are Revo dealers and will power run just about every car they map on a Dyno-Dynamics roller.

Whats your torque figures on 163bhp? Coz you would have to be pushing 300 lbs/ft to be smoking a subaru. Even then you've only got 4000 rpm to play with. Also VXR's go pretty well, i used to stay with one in my 2.0t fsi quattro with 240bhp and 240 lbs/ft.
But now im stage 3 k04 hybrid with a custom map and stage 3 clutch... I obliterate all of them. Surely your clutch wouldn't be able to handle said power as it is?

A subaru even in standard trim will push 300Bhp easily, no way a lousy 1.9 Tdi with half the Bhp and half the revs will even keep up ! I had a play with a prodrive subaru WRX and i could keep up with him till i hit overboost in 4th at 4000rpm's, after that he was long gone ! I drive a +300Bhp/700Nm v6 tdi and i could not pass him ! In the OP case is lotery dyno, even the most custom tune won't do wonders on stock hardware !

Now thats what i call realistic....

Yes! Someone else has noticed. Wasnt just me thinking this! :lmfao:

Lol a stock scooby runs 235 then the sti runs 300 but have less than 250lbfAnd I shall take a video and get back to you just to prove a 1.9 can out run a scooby... I had 8 people last time and we both had passengers...
1.9tdi will destroy none turbo Subaru's :ermm: 123bhp and 0-60 in 10.4 (by the books), don't require modifications for that. Been there myself, no point trying against a real Subaru though.

Expecting the reg to be on the Subaru in this video so I can check :icon_thumright:

hmmm, people will often exaggerate when it comes to car tuning and unless its been proven on a rolling road I take the figures with a pinch of salt, my A4 so I have been told is running at 280 BHP and somewhere close to 600nm (my car hasn't been of a rolling road). It is quick though and will upset quite a lot of stuff from the lights. If you want to go fast, maybe 115 wasn't the best way to go. Getting a little but off topic now though.

A lot of funny reading in this thread and a few people that really know what they are talking about

still didn't answer the question about the clutch, just read the whole thing for nothing just loads of haters and trolling.

Yup I agree, to many people thinking they know my car when they clearly don't.

It's been rolling roaded at pk automotive, it's currently pushing 180hp and 462nm...

Currently beats all civic type r's (199bhp), insignia cdti (160, stage one decat and dpf delete, pushes 200 hp or more). The new Astra gtc (1.4 turbo 140/160hp) and has also beaten a badly tuned turbo subaru (sti bottom end supposedly running 280hp.) all these wins I've had 4 or more witnesses.

My car has stumped me performance wise and many of my friends either my car has had an uprated turbo from the previous owner who was a lady (I highly doubt it) or revos custom map they did really is awesome.

Haters gonna hate though I've learnt that... Be jealous kids doesn't bother me lol

I've just read this thread through from start to finish. I have little knowledge of the subject, and no axe to grind, but I don't see anyone hating you. They just disagree with you. Surely you can tell the difference?

If being knowledgeable and realistic is hating and trolling then guilty I am:)

Sometimes.... It's possible to know that a thread on here will be filled with slavers before you've even read it, based purely on the author.

This is one of those cases.

It's been rolling roaded at pk automotive, it's currently pushing 180hp and 462nm.

So from claims so far a 115bhp 1.9tdi was mapped to 170bhp then clutch, intercooler and decat gained 10bhp. Can believable that the clutch, intercooler and decat could gain 10 on top, but if the garage knew anything about these engines they would have suggested injectors and turbo rather than wasting money on things that could potentially lead to a premature death. Still all lies, we don't care what it's supposedly faster than or how many people have whitnessed it because we haven't. Why would you say it's been dyno'd without posting it up and proving us all wrong.

Another point to consider, OP, is that right at the beginning, when you started this thread, you asked people for their opinions. If you ask people for their opinions, they will give them. You don't have the right to pick and choose the replies you get. You have to accept that not all of those opinions will co-incide with yours. That is a fact of life, and an unavoidable consequence of going on a public forum and asking people what they think. If it doesn't suit you, the solution is a simple one.

Oh, and the people you refer to as "kids" are anything but. They are people with some measure of maturity and experience, so even if you don't agree with them, showing them some respect would do no harm.

Also, in the case of Adamss24, this is someone who builds and rebuilds engines like yours for a living. In other words; he knows stuff.

If anything we're all being far too friendly after being called kids, idiots, to do our homework and that we don't know this car.

... now where's this dyno printout? Considering the OP replies to positive comments same day he could have posted the dyno graph same day too. Needing to install Photoshop and draw one?
