Hi everyone iv been a long term member and have had a few S3's and a short fling with a TTRS but am now back in a S3 again and where I belong. Here's a few photos of the S3's and the RS :-

The first S3 stage 2 only photo it could find

the second S3 never modded it

then the TTRS stage 1 made 417bhp

and now the new project and first S-Tronic my sprint blue S3

the plan for this one is:-

stage 2
speedline turini's
itg closed CAI
tbe milltek with sports cat
RS3 grill
eibach springs
black rear badges

iv de badged the back and fitted the black S3 badges already got the RS3 grill waiting to be fitted. And have bought the ITG and milltek TBE which will arrive in before Xmas. So not much left after that just wish I kept all the parts from the first S3 but you don't think like that when you sell the car.

Looks good mate... I like your previous white 1.... Think it'll be white/red for my next car... Colour contrast is a bit hard to achieve with the sprint blue... Hate the blingy grill and fitted the optics myself but think its look better on the previous colours

i like the white one but iv always loved the colour sprint blue and had to have one. The plan is black grill dark alloys either grey or black and black lower and rear splitter to make it look in my eyes perfect

yeah mate... Kinda went that direction myself, i've tinted the back 3 windows light smoke, put on the optics.. I've put the rotors on mine so they are gunmetal grey, still to do the front splitter black... But cant make my mind up yet bout the rear valance, I like it grey, but i'm doing the front black for it to disappear and give it that more aggressive look... But when the backs black it makes the bumper look weird imo, but i'm wondering if i'd get away with the front being black and the back being grey... Just need to try it and see

Nice selection of cars you've had, but the Sprints the best.
Car will be sweet once the mods are done.

Will be interested to see what it looks like on the speedlines with the black and blue theme. Speedlines are on my shortlist of wheels but I'm still undecided. Any reason as to why you ditched the TTRS?

i think the speedlines will look great. The reason I ditched the TTRS was for more practicality because the RS was basically a 2seater and wanted more seats also the extra cash has sorted my Xmas presents and a holiday to Florida and a small amount left for potential mods or a rainy day.

That's a very nice collection of cars.
I bet that ttrs went well!

Yes went amazing standard and stupidly quick mapped 417bhp quick that was just stage 1

Not fancy stage 2+ on it? Only needs a Loba fuel pump, potential for 350BHP+ ;)

Well my grill arrived before the car did and have finally fitted it. The grill is the one on ebay made by xenonz-uk and I can tell you all now it's just as good as audis grill if not better everything fits perfectly. Anyway the photos:-

Bumper off ready for the new grill to be fitted sorry really bad photo was very dark and my phones flash is rubbish

Looks great mate, is that also a smaller number plate holder thing they sent with it too? I notice you have a private reg, do you plan to have short plates made up and use that?

Also, how difficult is it to remove the front bumper?

Cheers!

S3 looks awesome in that blue colour mate, really nice motor! I;d love one that colour sportback with a pan roof mmmm.

At 23 wish I could afford to insure one :(

good old spot no they didn't send it, it's off my ttrs I had it made but can't make it fit so it'll just sit in the garage gathering dust until I need it one day.

It's not to bad to remove the bumper make sure you have the correct tools and a friend to help with pulling the bumper off.

im 23 and it's £1100 full comp with 3points but I do live in the sticks and my car lives in the garage. And thanks for the comments about the colour it is one of the best colours I think.

My insurance is about £900 its more for an S-tronic though :( haha

What?!?!?! Are you guys like taking the **** or something lol! I'm paying £1000 for my 170 TDi S-tronic black edition but they want me to bend over and pull my pants down if I ask for quotes on the S3. I do have a rubbish post code though I must say...

it's all about location, location, location haha my ttrs was £1400 fully comp 3points

Did you not give your crash bar a paint Morells? .... Done 1 of these recently and painting the crash bar Black was the best option as it was too easy to see the silver through the grill?

didn't need to the foam that goes behind the S3 grill and in front of the crash bar fitted straight onto the new grill so you can't see the crash bar.

Its location, I'm on a decent CH postcode.

Paid £800 for a 2009 170 TDi when i was 22
£720 for a 2008 Type R when i was 23
£950 for a 2009 S3 S-tronic at 23

My Mrs brings the price down massively though i think it would be double without her, not that she drives it though.. ever. She has her own Mini lol

I think I'll have to move to match those prices lol or wait until I'm 25 which is probably what I'll do...

will do when I clean it on the weekend ;)

how come you guys pay so much im 21 with 3 points and my s3 is only £821 a year full comp granted its not as new as yours its 2008 pre facelift , you guys in a high risk area ?

Looks awesome, Buddy! The RS3 grille makes such a difference to the front end, ..I bet people will move out of your way pretty swiftly when they see that mean looking baby heading towards them in their rear view mirror, lol. Are you going to put any more black bits on? Rico did a tremendous job of de-chroming his Sprint Blue S3 by adding the black grille, mirrors, Black Edition CH's, etc. Looked mean as!. Great job, Morells, really looks fab! Paula xx

It all depends on your postcode, even a difference CH postcode could add more or less to my insurance, how many drivers, job etc, Mine would have been about the same as yours but for my insurance company the fact its an Auto means its more to insure

don't know about the black wing mirrors but want to try and find the carbon ones if you know where I can get some or if anyone knows? And yeah I saw Rico's kinda my inspiration but some speedline turini's in grey I think. And thanks paula about the nice comments on how she looks I'm in love with her

What map are you going with for stage 2 mate? Also not fancy a BCS power valve exhaust… :p

going with oscarli mate as he's right next to my house basically and had no problems which I shouldn't since he helps revo and some of the other big guns just no one knows about it (they do now). And I would have tried the BCS exhaust but got a good deal with jamesS3 for his milltek, ITG, internals and rs4 valve so that's stage 2+ sorted and booked for the 20th this month.

Here's a link to some carbon covers for it, Buddy. I know these will fit your Dumbo's 100% as a guy on here (a member but not an active one) had a 2010, 59 plate S3 and he was looking to buy some the same as the carbon mirror covers I had on mine. I suggested he buy these as the guy who made my covers refused to make another set after the PITA mine were to make, lol. He was very apprehensive waiting for them to arrive, but he needn't have been, lol. They fitted his car perfectly and judging by the pics I saw of them when fitted, they looked very high quality and the weave was very straight. The good thing is they are complete replacement covers, not some cheapo stick on jobs and proper carbon fibre. They skin the carbon onto plastic replacement covers to ensure exact fitment. They will look SWEET on your S3!!! xx

how ow long will they take to arrive from America? And will have to ask my dad and brother to help towards them as a Xmas present hah.

Seems sensible to go for 2+ if you can! I think I'm gonna go stage 2 then maybe 2+ with FMIC if i have the money, at first i got the impression stage 2 wasn't worth it but after seeing quite a few threads if its set up right then stage 2 is fine :)

They took around 2-3 weeks to come from Taiwan and the guy who bought them told me there was no customs duty to pay either, which there would have been if they came from the US. I've never had to pay duty on anything imported from China. xx
