Had a 59 plate A3 sportback 2 cars ago and had a fitted bootliner in it, now got a 12 plate Sportback quattro and the boot liner doesn't fit?

I thought it was the same chassis etc until the new shape came out in 2012 (which mine is not)

The 2wd has a slightly different shape boot to the Quattro due to the propshaft, rear diff and axles being under there.

Still have the same chassis but might be some modifications from the MY09 to the MY11... Dont know for sure til you have them side by side to compare

Possibly, you might be right... But I dont see why the would have different bodies for that?

I can assure you I am lol ;)

The two extra driveshafts, rear differential and the propshaft take up more space under a boot than a car without.

The boot is raised a little compared to the FWD and that in turn perhaps gives the Quattro boot a slightly smaller boot footprint. like when you fit the spacers on some cars for a full size spare you need to buy a slightly smaller boot floor as the boot tapers a little the higher you go.

Ahhh yes Muzza, you see, i'd replied before you added that additional info...

Well I thought the boot would have been raised between the 2... I dont know the difference, i've only ever owned quattros so they all look the same from my experience ;)

hacksaw! Ha...

Thanks for the replies, my curisity is now answered. i did wonder if it was a quattro thing, the stanley knife will make it fit.

That will also be why there isn't even a space saver wheel under boot floor I presume. Now it makes sense!!
