2013 Audi S3

And to preconceive all pp owners as intolerable @rseholes (prejudicing purely based on their purchasing behaviour) sounds like an unreasonable attitude that his former boss would have possessed, slightly hypocritical!

I'm in the process of setting up a company that will donate half of its profits to good causes, yet I'm still considering buying a pp. Does that make me self centred and evil... I'd argue not!

Mr lowther et al.. I have at no time to my knowledge referred to any individual on this Forum as an @rsehole.. please check your facts... if I have I apologise unreservedly.

As to your good nature good on you but I fail to see what that has to do with the Macbeth/Scottish Play subject.

Going to visit my dealer tomorrow to finalise my S3, still not sure on colour.

Just looking at the panther black thread! That is a gorgeous colour, never thought I'd consider a black car.

If you bought panther I don't think you'd ever wake up one morning and think yeah, should have bought another colour.

Black on its own is a good colour, but the panther uniqueness gives it a wow factor.

Quite a few people agree black is a good colour, just hard to keep clean. Not an issue for me as I'll enjoy cleaning it! And 99% of people who have seen panther in person LOVE IT.

How difficult is it to keep clean? My mate has his own valet business and cleans my cars once a month, I'm thinking panther black is a weekly job haha.

As promised - pics of the Panther car in Nottingham. It was dirty but even so, what a colour.

hardest decision, lol..... Got to be crystal effect though !

I'm lucky, Nottingham have both crystal colours there in the flesh right now. Blue and Black.

The Estoril is in the showroom and even with those lights it really doesn't 'pop' as much as I'd want it too. It's just too dark blue for me.

That was exactly my opinion & why I changed from Estoril to Panther, I expected Estoril to be more vivid when I saw it.

Dark blue is nice, black is just black.

As from the pictures, it kind of just looks black to me except the really really close ones.

Incredible, but there is swirl in that demo already".. Sack the cleaner !!!

Gotta say my car was badly swirled from day 1... It's all over the car. My heart nearly sank to the earth's core but nothing much i could do about it so i said nothing to the dealership... I did complain over the phone when asked for feedback but what to do?

i'm contemplating going to a specialist that i have heard of, they renovate damaged paint work, but it would cost 250eur for the pleasure.

You can buy a decent polisher and do it yourself for less than that and then have the kit and skills for life.

I did exactly that about 2 years ago and haven't looked back.

Thanks itguy, i was going to give this a try, i bought some supposedly good polish. I'm still considering going to the pro's but i need to check out my car in the daylight and in the sun to assess the damage. I never had time to do this cause of the bad weather and the fact it gets dark at 4pm. I'll wash the car today and polish it, I'll also take some pictures.

Honestly, a meguiars g220 polisher is worth it's weight.

I had a 30min session with a detailed friend and that's given me skills for life. I can make a video explaining the process if you like - our metallic black mk5 gti needs a good session soon.

Think a few of us on here would be truly grateful if you made a video Itguy. Perhaps when you do your GTI you would be kind enough to show and explain your skill involved?

ACTUALLY paid exclusive colour price! Can only see them selling it to an impatient customer unwilling to endure the lead time.

It says exclusive colour but couldn't find it in the list on the site. Was trying to spec it all up to see what it came to new (though while they say used, it only has 25 miles...). Got as far as £39.2k without the paint.

I've gone for Estoril Blue as I've been through all the other colours with previous cars so blue again! In terms of swirls at pick-up it would be a no no for me. I would ask for the dealer to arrange for the car to be detailed at cost. I nearly bought an M135i which had been in the show room for a few months. They were going to cover the cost of a new car detail as part if the deal as the car was covered in fine scratches. There's no shame in asking. After all you are paying over £30k for a brand new car and should reasonably expect it to be right from day 1.

I believe you can get any colour you want, they offer a dulux style colour matching service :)

We have gone for Estoril blue, still haven't decided on manual or S-tronic, HB or SB!

Help!!

Help!!

Depends entirely what you want from your drive! Both gearboxes have very good reviews so there isn't a bad option. A tronic gives you a bit of flexibility and the whoooomphs on change! That's what I'm looking forward to! Plus you get to feel like an f1 driver with the paddles!

Or a Duck!!

I have driven many thousands of miles in recent years with MODERN DSG/STronic and Tiptronic boxes and can assure you the comparison with an f1 driver is minimal.

The S3 (HB or SB ) is a highly sporty and responsive hot hatch.. for my 2p such cars suit manual gearboxes best ... hasn't this been discussed before..
