Hi all.

I am looking for a recommended (from personal experience) of a window tinting company in the north east of England -Teesside/Wearside/Tyneside?

I have obviously used Google and found various reputable companies but am just a bit wary with the water ingress issue in the boot with the B&O amp - so would prefer to use someone with KNOWN experience of working on an A5/S5

Thanks

Saj

I used Blacktints in Harrogate 07545 083020

Been 3 years now and still looks like factory privacy glass :)

Cheers Zafi - did you tell them to cover the amp up or did you cover it yourself? Any photos?

It's an an A4 avant.

He does the tinting for the local dealers so knows what he is doing :)

Got it booked in for Wednesday at his York unit. Just need to decide on what % level to get now!!

Let us know how you get on. This is another thing on my list to do.
Picture before and after would be good.

Got the tinting done, 85% as per the factory finish.

Not totally happy with it as there is a border around the windows that is not tinted (it is from the inside but from the outside you can see a border around the windows where the dot matrix pattern is on the glass).

Not sure if this is normal so will ring up to check - I was told at the time of fitting that I would be able to press down on the film once it had partially dried and this would cover up the 'border' but I have not been able to do that.

On another note, I think the tints will look better once I get the chrome trim wrapped gloss black, due next week - It will tie in better.

To answer my own question - the border is not 'normal' as shown on this thread

Factory Tint & De-Chrome - A5_OC

Not impressed, looks like I will have to get it redone if I want a good job!!!

De chrome finally done - looks much better and the slight issue with the window tinting is less obvious.

By looking at the thread on a5OC , that guy has the same border as you! Maybe you just notice more as it's your car. Looks good!
