Hello,

Has anyone stage 2 turbo'd there a3 tdi 140?

if so are you happy with the results and what power are you making?

I done this on my 2008 golf gt tdi 140 and it was a rocket around 235 bhp s3's r32's had no chance unless they was going off the clock , but apparently the engine in the audi is different somehow , well most of the audi's pre 2008 like mine sound like a tractor compared to my golf so something must be different .

The sportback is quite a but heavier to so won't expect it to be as quick as the golf .

Also where did you get your stage 2 turbo from?

Cheers

Wasn't a CR engine in your golf was it? They are quieter than the older PD lump.

Quite a few have hybrid turbos on here

I'm not to sure to be honest but the golf was a hell of a lot smoother and quieter , it does bug me a little but I just turn the radio up lol plus i'll be giving it to my mrs once she has a little more experience on the roads so I won't be driving it as much

mines on 233 bhp :jump:

Very nice, where did you get the turbo from ?

I got my last one from eBay , didn't have any problems with it to be fair, think it was a rebuilt 140 turbo but don't hold me to that.

What's up?

How can you say that an S3 (or even an R32) will have no chance? Yes, it might be close if the S3 is std, but if it's wet you will be spinning in 3rd and maybe even 4th gear (been there and done that!).

I didn't say anything about the s3 or r32 being modified??

It's never spinning with a LSD in 3rd , also without LSD in dry it goes .

And yes they had no chance , never came up against one off the lights always a rolling start but still they couldn't leave me, a bunch of other cars struggled too but not here to debate about that.

I'm not knocking you Alex, I've had runs against an older 8P S3 in my skoda and it was close, but a quick calculation of the extra weight of an S3 vs slightly less power in the golf would make them about the same. That doesn't equate to "didn't stand a chance", that's all I'm saying. It's the same old question - what would you prefer to drive?

standard injectors, injectors max out at 240 I thought .

Is yours 140 or 170 std? Maybe theres a difference in 170 injectors, if not I'm happy to be wrong lmao

Although mines a BKD 2.0 so maybe that has something to do with it.

My stage 2 pd 150 golf couldn't see off a 3.2 A3, so I doubt whether the OP's mk5 would've done any better against an S3.

By time the diesel's running out of puff (pardon the pun:)) the S3 would've been getting into it's stride.

It quite possibly has to do with the driver too, I recently out accelerated an E46 M3 up to 70 in my 2.0tdi 175bhp/280lbft, after he overtook me all i could smell was his clutch

I can see this is gonna turn into a willy waving contest.

Anyone have information on hybrid turbos, anything helps. What you think is faster, what you beat, how your remapped TDi is the fastest thing out there isn't really relevant unfortunately.

My TDI isn't the fastest thing out there, my quattro will be though so :p

Wasn't trying to wave willys or what ever, was merely saying that the reason the OP might think his Stg2 TDI is quicker than an S3/R32 is due to the other drivers being shot...

Or not exactly realising they were in a race with a diesel haha....

Ok maybe I should rephrase it to they didn't stand a chance of getting away which is the truth , got no reason to lie, as I say off the lights would be a different story but bumping in to an s3 r32 midrange speed they couldn't get away at all.

I dont mind diesels but I also have 2007 m5 estate which I prefer to drive but have to say I took the audi on a long motorway drive yesterday and it was very comfy .

Haha.... Yeah ok! ;)

I had a E class 320cdi AMG , not the newest shape one , the one before , and again mid range an S3 couldn't really do anything but maybe he just couldn't drive but you could tell he was trying.

I'm not knocking S3/r32's, I think they are all a lovely looking car.

Got raped by a Skoda fabia VRS tdi today. It must have been remapped and decatted because it was smokey and loud as hell. Little rockets them
