Hi guys, just had my car MOTd and was recommended putting a can of BG44K additive in with the fuel, wow what a difference. No black smoke out the back when hard accelerating, and the power comes on smooth, before the engine seemed to pulse while accelerating. Also seems more responsive.

Anyone else use this?

Used it in the past, it seems to do the job. They recommend to use it once a year.

I used this on my 8L S3 and it did what it said on the tin. I recommend it.

Another vote for it here. Made a noticeable difference on 2 out of 3 cars I tried.

Bg44k is for petrol engines isn't it? I though bg244 was for diesels.

Didn't know about this, just ordered a can from amazon - £23, if the reviews are anything to go by then I can't wait to get it in my car!

You can usually get it for £15 off eBay.

I've used it 3 times I think in the last 60k, no appreciable difference to be honest, wouldn't get too excited.

Has anyone tried sucking some of this through the intake manifold to get the backs of the intake valves? Kind of like Seafoam, only it actually does something :icon_thumright:

I'm curious if it's safe to do?

Mines been great since using it! Tfsi and no more bogged down cold start and more responsive great stuff for 20 quid!

Did you just do the BG44k in the tank or did you do some BG ISC through the manifold as well?

The BG44k in the tank helped me a lot, I couldn't believe how noticeable the idle changed, less jerky at low RPM and more torque at low RPM. I think I'm missing power up top still which leads me to believe valves are still a bit gummed.

I just used it in the tank, i did it when I was just doing short journeys so it lasted ages in there. It's not perfect no substitute for proper clean but if it helps with the jerky cold starts then it's not all bad.. Unfortunately mines now developed a knock when changing gear :-( just when I though all was well lol
