If you can supply pictures then that would be good or a link to your DIY.
The picture was taken before aligning., as they are on a BMw access was easy to sort as the lamps are not sealed.
The are the Morimoto H1 bi xenon projector kit, it will be the stock lense that comes with the kit which is not the clear.
tRups
Nice.
I did a bi xenon projector retro fit last week to a local customers BMW and it turned out awesome, was shocked how good it was actually.
you guys will be glad to know that I have some projector kits coming into stock, only 4 which are all sold/jobs booked in for this service by myself.
2 of the 4 cars are B7's. one Avant and 1 cab.
once they are in I will get pictures of the end results for you and if you wanted to order them I can supply, and fit if required but lamps would need to be sent to me.
Trups
Hi Trups, any updates on those 2 B7's? I'd like to see some pictures when done (especially of the cab). I still can't make me mind whether to go for the OEM items or save some bucks and do this conversion...
So with these retro fit kits does the original full beam bulb still work or is it by passed and full beam is through the xenon part only?
Good work Emmo, i'm in the process of painting mine this week before refitting on the weekend (hopefully)!!
You should make a proper thread for these trups, only just noticed them and I'd probably have jumped on the first group buy lol
The original full beam still works. The kit is bixenon and if you use the splitter wire then you have the xenon full beam too.
Thanks Emmo, was tempted but not keen on halogen full and xenon main on at the same time. Suppose it might look ok with xenon effect full beam bulbs⦠Might wait until more people have done the conversions and I'll make my mind up then
You could disconnect the main beam halogen but the xenons would not power up unless you use a bi xenon loom, a lot of wiring and a lot of errors on the b7 to work around.
If the xenons are not on then only you halogen full beams will work, if the xenons are on then the halogen and xenon will be on, so at night this would be a bonus as you would have twice the amount of light.
Why are you not keen on having both on? From a safety point of view on a dark road you would get better light output than the factory bi xenons.
TRUPS
Wet sanded with 1200 grit and painted them with shadow chrome aerosol can and finished with 2k lacqour aerosol but for some strange reason the indicator parts have reacted.
So after spending £50 on paint and hours of sanding, cleaning and painting etc, i'm now giving them to my local bodyshop to do as i can't be ***** to redo it in the cold evenings in the shed.
I haven't painted my shrouds but i painted the rest with lots of light coats with 10 minutes between until i got a nice even coat. Can you not just flat them back and retry.
Thanks Emmo, was tempted but not keen on halogen full and xenon main on at the same time. Suppose it might look ok with xenon effect full beam bulbs⦠Might wait until more people have done the conversions and I'll make my mind up then
Yea may just try that, sanding is so much effort
