2013 Audi S3

This is racing mica blue and it looks the same to me. Shame is not a standards colour as is seriously cool.

indeed, for 40k and 2 doors I'd take a base porsche cayman......

i had a cayman s. The other thing to consider is running costs. On a good day it done 20mpg. The rear tyres done about 6k miles and cost at least 600 quid per set to replace. I can almost get 4 tyres for the S3 for that (recently got goodyear eagle F1 A/S for 140 each)!

also if need be I can put a couple of mates in the back, ok it happens very rarely but it does happen.

The Cayman S was amazing to drive, just really not a viable first car option :(

i can't wait to see pics of your ice silver one - my wife wasn't keen but would have been my first choice

not as much as I can't wait to take them!! Think it's going to be 8 weeks until I get her......i hope lol

BOTH colours are amazing and versatile in their own right, racing blue a pearlescent effect colour and estoril named as a new Audi crystal effect colour.

Went it was dull and overcast my racing blue mica 8P looked liked just a normal blue but when the sun broke through or it was parked in a petrol station forecourt the paint then really came to life. I'm positively confident that this will be the case for estoril blue supported by the estoril pics, videos I've seen and uploaded here and the feedback we've read from estoril owners and those who have seen them in the flesh.

Just got x 4 Dunlop TT maxx 225/40/18 92y for £410,,, Goodyear were same price. Actually £450 minus a £40 Tesco fuel voucher. Great deal. Trade the tyres are £76.80 each + vat so don't get ripped off!

They all do 155 mph ! and if its 0-62 you mean, if yours is the manual (not sure from your signature info) then you will be 3 tenths slower than a lot of S3 SBs :icon_thumright:

If you are getting s tronic then fair play!

Its the Stronic so the fastest, until they release the RS3 in a few years which might well be in 5 door, at which point I think my argument for the smaller faster car falls apart, but right now ;)

I'm really glad I've ordered a 3 door, I think the sportback would look a lot better without the extra windows at the rear. I probably would've considered it but I can't get my head around why Audi have tried to make it look like an avant, I'd just buy an S4 Avant if I wanted an estate.
I do get why people would buy a 5 door though for practicality.

I wonder what the actual figures are for the 3 door s tronic. I've heard from multiple knowledgeable sources that Audis figures are normally conservative. Just my thinking but I reckon with a stated 0-60 time of 4.8 it might actually be closer to 4.6/5?

thats great news. Mine is build week 51 but I'm going to wait to get it on a 14 plate, 1st march.

i couldn't do that. It would kill me knowing that it is in their compound but i can't have. Would be like your Mrs being in Ann Summers gear at her time of the month....

oh and I have a private plate so it makes no odds to me.

I have ordered the sportback because I have 2 children and the thought of all that messing around with 2 less doors would drive me nuts, so it's purely down to practicality. I also like the fact that it is Avantish, I don't want an A4 and my budget won't stretch to an S4, so an S3 sportback it is, I've also ordered aly rails and can't wait. There is no right or wrong whether it's spec, colour etc, lets just all enjoy the cars for what they are.

I agree there's no right or wrong spec just personal preference! The world would be a boring place if everyone chose the same!
I for one am happy being in an elite club of S3 owners whether sportback or 3 door!

Absolutely, it's all just pub banter.

At least we've all got/ordered s3's of some sort rather than wanna-bes.

Truth is that 5 door hatchbacks are becoming increasingly popular, even in other car brands, i do believe though that Audi's 8P set the trend for this, just like they did for Pano Roof's, and Daytime Running Lights that you now see on every other fecking car...

But 3 door 5 door = our band of brothers here have all obviously got impecable taste!!

Any previous Seat Leon Fr MK2 drivers here... if so how does it compare to the S3 SB? Performance/Space/Fuel Efficiency etc

Actually early examples of the 'hatchback' body configuration can be traced to the 1930s, Hatchback - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia DRL's are now law, so you see more of them but you could argue that there has been daytime running lights for years as it was law to have daytime running lights in other countries, with the low beam headlights being used, thus I do not think Audi were the first Daytime running lamp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia My Dyane 6 had a panoramic sunroof well before anyone else made them into glass, it was made of fabric that you could roll back :)

Hi new to this forum and loving it, lots of good info and interesting to see what people are going for - Ordered S3 SB in Estoril last week of September although not sure if dealer put through until 1st week of October and was advised Build Week 9 went to 7 and now 8 - Still not factory confirmed though and have been advised could change either way

Couldn't believe 6 months - This will be my 6th A3 (first of the new type) including an S3 in March 2007 (ordered Dec 2006) which arrived in plenty of time for 1st March - Just wondering if any recent activity on confirmed build weeks for people who ordered around the same time - I did see itguy was build week 51 and he ordered 3 weeks ago but then his changed out but is still expecting 1st March I think

Hey Sparks, i ordered on the 13 October, i've now got a confirmed build week of 51, the dealer hopes to have it by the end of January (Although i'll probably wait until March for the new plate)

Hi Matthew

Thanks for confirming your date - When I ordered mine I said to the dealer I didn't want it until 1st March which she said was no problem they would keep if for me - I know the dealer (Chelmsford) very well so couldn't believe when she said build week is last week of February/March and they would get it at the end of March

Hope that mine might come in a bit then - What will be will be as not going to cancel the order obviously - I know they are built with the normal A3's so looks like everybody will have long waiting times- Was always about 12 weeks on the old model

Audi have agreed both my passenger windows are faulty and will be replaced. Have to wait around 2-4 weeks to get in stock, but at least there has been no issue with them agreeing to the change

I'm still baffled as how to how my car left the factory with window chips, would advise anyone picking up their cars to do it in dry conditions and inspect throughly every detail

Haahahaha that's funny. She probably caught them with her nails... You would think she would be wearing gloves plus a big opportunity to scratch the paintwork with whatever she has in her hands...

Another example of shocking German engineering. They should be made in British Leyland, nothing would go wrong then...

I too was thinking that for someone who works in a car manufacturing plant, her nails are in amazing shape!

Have to get your priorities right... her hair is also looking rather remarkable

I can see how the glass was damaged though!!!

is it me or am i correct in saying that the black styling pack, black rails and rotors do not work well estoril blue?

thoughts on the combination not the car colour guys.

I think the black wheels look good on the blue car but not so much the grill and roof rails. There is a nice contrast between the chrome bits and blue paintwork but the standard wheels are not part of that blue/chrome ensemble therefore having the wheel inserts powder coated on black would probably look good.
