There are loads of other build threads out there in other model sections.
Granted most are not as fast or engine based build like you guys but are still good reading.
The only trouble is you got to trawl through many other posts and sections to find any build threads.

Be great if they was all in one location where you can see all build threads for ever model. :ninja:

i rate get a ring, some gloves and everyone can have a go with everyone and then we all move on with our lives?

iv gone from site to site seeing politics and crap in all of them! i joined this forum and there were none and it was so awesome!
Yes jardo has no bones in his tongue but we all know him for that! he calls it like it is! i dont know many of you on a personal level like prawn and jardo but can we just put the differences aside and move on?

It's the massive negative response something's get.
Questions that are read a different way to how the are ment,
The WE know it all speeches ,
I love the forum for help and interesting reads , just to be clear non of the people I've had help from fall into the above,
not many of us have the time,money or enthusiasm to make such great build threads, I for one can only do it bit by bit... Hopefully a lot of the big chunks have been spent now ,
the spring will liven this place up, people are low on time and money this time of year
 
I'm in the middle of a hybrid and wmi build, getting mapped next wed, but nobody cares :(

I think... We all care,
hints and tips along the way encourage me to go the extra mile and look at new mods

He may not have worked for a major tuning company although he did have a banner advertising one at the time, but he most certainly took objection to the fact a member dared express the opinion that a custom mapper of repute like Bill Badger/Joe power was a better option than a large tuning company.

Now i'm not naming names or pointing fingers but this mod isn't too far away \/ :)

Anyway it's completely soured and tarnished my opinion of this place and how it's run. The members are great, i've received loads of help and went above and beyond and helped out many more especially over in the B6 A4 section supplying M3 hex head bolts to fix the crappy Audi ones holding in the number plate lights.

Most people in here will slate the bigger companies and really respect the work of Bill and Nick,
I for one am a ****** for trying to get my point across on a forum/website only for it to be read as argumentative...
Do you have an 8L based car then? feels like alot of people are in this section just to voice opinions on people rather than cars.

Sorry if that sounds bad...just that i keep reading comments like "i havent got an A3 myself but ..."

I use this forum for knowledge and help, and the occasional blog update for my two S3's (8L and 8P).
Don'y really have time to get involved in the politics or banter whatever its called these days.
 
A lot of "banter" is not received in good spirit,
sometimes because it's just plan over the top and dismissive of somebody's ideas or questions,
I have only one real issue with the site...
If your post, thread or question isn't new and cutting edge then you get dismissed or plain slatted for it,
I like to use forums to keep in touch with other members with the same kind of cars and as such some threads are more like a " what's your take on this ? Or should I do this or ... This"
only to be told " use the search function "
 
Using the search button is not always the right option as it may bring up outdated info also a forum is no dead with nobody posting just searching imho
 
I like to ask questions... I shy away from it on here for the large part...
my love for the S3 comes and goes in waves... So if it seems I've asked before ... That may well have been 6months of, and we all know developments with this engine and tuning is fast moving,
I've tried searching... And for the large part had no real joy with it,so I sit here with questions to ask but just end up annoying Prawn via Facebook about them...
 
Iv been on this forum for a while now but don't post to much really
I find personally when i use the search button it brings up a lot of old threads which a lot of photos don't work and so on....
 
Searching is fine for some questions like Will these wheels fit my car or can I fit theses seats. Having a quick search to see if its been asked and answered so you understand it but if not. Ask away.

Like MrV said, answers can be out of date cause new or better ways could have been found or a fellow member is doing the same thing so its good to share.

Some older members can get a bit annoyed with answering or seeing the same questions over and over again but they don't have to click on the thread if it annoys them and the answer/lock with "use the search, its been done before" type of response won't do the forum as a whole any good and can stop people wanting to post or join up.

Keep it up mate! I don't mind at all.

i'm all for people being helpful, but it doesn't half make me angry when someone asks a question, and gets 10 replies, and 9 of those replies are just plain wrong. It leaves the OP struggling to sift through the bull **** and the genuine info.

we do, but I've never seen any pictures and who wants to just read about it. A picture says a thousand words, therefore quit moaning make a build thread with pics and people might be interested. I'm sure I would be.

I was taking the **** dude. I should have started a build thread 2 years ago but its a bit late and I hate fighting to put pics up. Might put some naked ones up to gauge interest and go from there.
