Bad Battery? or something else

Hi,
my car failed to start yesterday and had to be jumped, i didnt leave any lights on etc...Drove home fine

It started this morning but struggled, pretty sure the alternator is fine. Maybe just a weak battery?

Gonna get it checked when i have time, do anywhere do free checks?
and if i get a new battery is it a straight swap or does anything need resetting?

car: Audi A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro SLine 2007

I had same problems a few months ago, replaced the battery and it cured it.

Nope can be a straight swop - i payed around £35 for a Varta battery and it was just a case of removing old, and putting new in.

Time and date will need resetting, and on first start i think the ESP will show fault (does on mine) then it clears.

Prob on original factory battery. Which in that case it'll be time for renewal.

I replaced my 5 year old battery the other week as I had the amber symbol come on in the DIS saying low charge.The light hasn't gone out with a new battery so it went into my local dealer yesterday turns out all is OK with that side of things and it's all down to a fault with the instrument cluster so only fix for that is a new one.

got mine for like £70 delivered, and its been great. and such an easy change, and it was more powerful than the battery i had it before!

Erm, arnt AUDI EVERYTHING is electrical? lol, i was under the impression they are heavy juicers.

The VARTA is significantly better for only £13 more, if i was you id be asking for a change of order.

Yes that should fit, fitted one in my A3 last week. A much better battery that the original.

A local garage shud do a free battery check, takes most part of 30 seconds and will give a voltage readout. should be around 14v I THINK.

Bought it from a local car shop near me, looks like youv sorted this problem owt now tho? Be sure to update us when you come to fitting the new one (y)
