Powerflex top mounts

In the process of gathering together some Polly bushes for the S3,

I'm doing the top mounts also as I don't think they have ever been done "83k",

The Lcr top mounts seem to be the preferred choice, I keep looking at the Powerflex top mounts but have read they can squeak after time, has anybody actually gone for the Powerflex or similar top mounts and how have you found them ?

Not sure on the price of Lcr top mounts but the Powerflex can be had for about £40, I've gone Powerflex for my other bushes and like to keep everything matching, but if the Powerflex top mounts are going to be a bad move I'll forget the idea and just go with the popular choice.

That's good to hear, I think it was Dani_b19 I read saying that they would need greasing from time to time to prevent them squeaking. Don't know how true that is ?

How long have you been running them and what's the ride feel like ??,

I'm more than lightly going to stick with my oem suspension so hopefully shouldn't be to bad, keep looking at the Bilstein B12 kit though...

over 6 months so far, without doing anything to them

a bit firmer, but not to harsh on the roads.

Worth while upgrade, we've sold a lot of sets now without any problems.

I'm running LCR ones- no issues here on my S3 after 18 months and compliments the coilovers and other poly bushes

Close mate of mine has had no end of problems with the powerflex top mounts and is often having to grease them up to stop the squeaking- this is on a Leon Cupra but pretty much the same set up and product as you'd get on an 8L chassis.

ps I've also gone powerflex with all my other bushes- I would have preferred to stick with the same brand for them all like you....but the LCR OEMs did it for me.

Seems like I could be taking my chances with the Powerflex top mounts,

think I'll order the Lcr top mounts just to be on the safe side then.

I've fitted power flex top mounts and haven't notice any noise from them.
