Anyone spotted the s3 with 3.2v6 on sale?

Ideal base for a big turbo 3.2 S3

Yep, it's mine, just testing the waters

Struggling to decide what to change it for, need more of a family car that's quick but not too thirsty...330d keeps coming to mind, or maybe a 320si

320si is a bit lame.

The newer 2.0 turbo motor in the F30 would be worth a look, but a nat asp 2.0 petrol? No way.

330d is a decent option, its just a shame the 335d doesnt come with a proper gearbox.

I know, the only thing what appealed to me about the SI is the limited number that have been made, but i'd have to test drive one because torque is quite low so i may hate driving it after a while. The 330d M Sport is looking favourable.

The 320d is faster to 60 than the Si by a couple of tenths, and the later 184 variant by even more!

You said you wanted something quick, a 320si does not tick that box :p

Lovely car

What's the story behind the build?
Did the 1.8t fail or was it a project you decided to do
What's your review on oem, modded S3 vs 3.2v6?

Shame you never did a build thread on this.

The main reason for doing the conversion was the realiability of my 1.8T, was having constant issues, ran great for a while then something ends up failing and then when the piston rings let go i decided to go for the 3.2. What i should of done was save my money over 3yrs and then gone to Bill for a full rebuild and BT, but saying that i don't regret the 3.2 V6, it's never let me down...just needs a turbo on it

If i do sell it, it's going to be a sad day but family comes first and what ever car i get will more than likely get some tweaks, can't leave it standard :)

It's a cracking car.. No doubt it will generate some interest as its a one off! I personally think you should go for that rs4 Sandip :p

This car may stay in the asn family yet.

Providing i can sell the ST pronto we would like to give sandip a nice offer. The mrs has really taken to it and ive always loved the car.
I pick the ST up from the sprayer tomoro after the wheels having a makeover, and will get a service stamp and health check from collins performance and its good to go.

The later, all alloy diesel engine is rubbish, chains break and blocks crack- i have a 28k in the workshop with block cracked in 2 places, i would go good old cast iron block if i was in the market !

B7 RS4. I bet they cost peanuts back there :p

They're a damn sight cheaper than your neck of the woods, that's for sure. But that'll soon be out weighed by the higher cost of petrol (about $2.50 AUD) and insurance, which is a legal requirement over here... Not to mention the considerably lower average income! (Although I obviously can't speak on Sandip's behalf there)

Appreciate the heads up on which engine is more reliable, so does the E46 have a iron block?

You got him a k&n nappy? Heard they're lightly oiled to help moisture :)
