Leather cleaning recommendations

Phil, send a pm to brodster on here, he is a site sponsor and stocks a large rsnge of detailing products (angelwax) iirc, or go to his site. (brotek) and look in the detailing barn section. :) x

I have had really good results with the AG leather cleaner followed by the leather care balm.

polished bliss has a leather cleaning kit has auto finnese cleaner and race glaze leather balm comes with soft leather brush and mircofibres comes up great! on my second bottle of raceglaze cant beat it in my opinion,

My leather was in a right state as i think it had never been looked after since initial purchase .I ended up removing most of the heavy staining with stardrops waterdown quite a lot . (used a nailbrush and a soft tootbrush for heavily soiled areas)After that i used the autoglym cream nourisher at only 5 pounds it was relatively cheap and did the job.I took all the seats out one at a time and carried on using the vehicle .
Eventually 2 weeks later and 1 bottle of nourisher later it is soft to touch and feels as good as it should .
Ps ....dont forget to do the steering wheel

Hi

This is my first car with leather interior So I'm looking for a good cleaner/conditioner.

Any recommendations?

Phil

The best thing in the world is, soap flakes, you can get these from super markets or boots (where I get mine from). sprinkle some in the bottom of a bucket and fill with very hot water and a micro fibre cloth to use, then have a second bucket full of just warm water again with another cloth use this just to rinse the leather down, more stubborn stains use a nail brush instead of the cloth. Once finished then use a decent leather feeding cream such as gliptone. That's it.
The info is from a leather care tradesman who cleans our leather seats on executive aircraft the come up superb!!

Hope this helps give it a go it doesn't do any damage whatsoever as soap flakes are a gentle soap solution that's all no chemicals.

Well I used the cleaner & conditioner that Mark sent me today, and considering the car was valeted last week before I collected it, the seats were filthy.

Thanks Mark

  • i used those magic sponges today and im blown away how amazing they are
dont see them doing any damage to the leather but certainly take away alot of grim and give that matt factory finish

I've never used gliptone mate so cannot comment. The Heaven For Leather is good enough for what I need it for and customers love the fresh smell of their leather once its been used.

Ahh no worries.
Just as I know I have some gliptone cleaner lying around somewhere so was unsure whether to use that and buy some gliptone Conditioner or just get Angelwax Heaven as it does both.
