S3 rear bumper

Hello, I'm guessing this had probably been asked before but after using the search I didn't seem to come across what u was looking for.
I would like to fit the s3 bumper on to my 2009 black edition a3, I have searched around but can't find the right bumper, a friend of a friend has just crashed his s3 but it's a 2004 model dot question is will the 2004 s3 rear bumper fit onto my 2009 a3 or will it look daft?

Very much doubt it would fit mate, is his car an 8L or 8P? as far as im aware they didnt even make an S3 in 2004...? Plus im not following why you would even consider putting a 10 year old bumper onto a 4 year old car :/

It's an 8p s3, I could be wrong in the year of the s3 but I know it's the pre facelift version

wont fit mate yours im assuming has a different back end and different tail lights to what his has is its a pre facelift 2004 model or what ever the year is

Is it the diffuser you are after or the bumper? 2006 onwards was the S3. 58 plate onwars is 8p3 facelift

I'm wanting to swap my rear bumper for the s3 bumper, apparently the diffuser won't fit onto my s-line rear bumper so I need the whole s3 bumper

i think in that case you just need to change the diffuser i reckon if its an S-line and with that the rubber inserts sitting on the bumper.. maybe post a picture of your bumper so we know exactly to guide you matey

Nope, he needs a new bumper. The 2008/09 onwards A3 S-line's have a one piece bumper + diffuser and the S3 bumper is a 2 piece bumper + diffuser.

Yes that is the bumper I have. So I take it I need the whole bumper not just the bottom part?

Seems like alot of messing around for some plastic that no-one will notice... but each to their own! I didnt even notice the diffuser properly until i was cleaning the car after i got it and noticed how far under the car it went!

Question lads.... Whats the difference between the 8p2 rear bumper and the 8p3.... I had the 2 of them together today and all I could work out is that the diffuser is different... Is this just the case or are there any sizes differences??.. So what i'm basically asking is... To facelift the rear bumper to 8p3 is all you have to do is change the diffuser?

The top part of the bumper is the same. The second part is different I believe (the part the diffuser fits into). Obviously the diffuser is different also

I'm not bothered about what other people think, I don't buy cars/parts to please others so as long as I like it I couldn't care less what others think and I don't want it to look like an s3 I just like certain parts of the s3
