I've got full DIS on my B7 so will probably have the same issue. Don't mind sending them back Trups so save you some money

Chin up Trups my 2010 sline comes up with the error but I'm happy to wait for you to sort,I will send the ones I have back when needed
 
Just tried mine, 2009 A3. Still throwing an error code too :(
 
Hi All.

Quick update, technician has spoke to me, he is awaiting results from the bulbs that Slice tests for me, once I have that he will start modding the bulbs and get out to me.

As the bulbs I have sent to slice are the same setup I made up when I tested them in oneniners A3 2011 and the ones that are running in the B7 in the 1st thread.

Yep errors here too, no big deal though, we all appreciate the time and effort you've put into 2 pesky little bulbs that you don't even see when you are driving! They look great though, perfect amount of light :happy:

Fingers crossed for the test bulbs, I also don't mind paying for postage or sending the old ones back
 
Hi guys! Sorry just reading through is there still problems with the plate bulbs I have got home from holiday today and mine are here ready to be fitted do I fit them or so I need to swap them or send that back trups.

Yours is a 2011 isn't it? If so, you would get an error on the DIS if you fitted them I'm afraid.
I'd just hold fire and follow this thread as trups has got a solution and will be updating us when the modified versions are available.

He's said he'd not ask us to send the old ones back to him, but a lot of us have offered to do this and pay a couple of quid towards postage so he isn't left out of pocket. This is up to you though.

At the moment I don't think we need to do anything, just wait for updates.

Hi.

i have passed the info of the new bulb i sent out to slice. (Thanks for testing). as he has nopw come back positive the factory are send me a pair to test as a sample on monday, as soon as i get back to them with that they will send me the 1st batch out and we can sort them getting replaced.

obvs you guys that have already bought will get them replaced 1st, closer to the time i will instruct on if i want the old ones back or not.

i will try and get these here no later than the 15th, i will try for the 10th nov tho. :)

No rush mate, appreciate all the work you've put in to these! Finally got a chance to pick mine up and tried them out. Unfortunately I got the error too. But dang did they look good!

Got a pair of revised bulbs in with some different currents on it and il be posting them tomorrow to slice so he can test them,

Hopefully he comes back with the same results and I can get the replacements made to get these sorted.

Ahhh been waiting a while for some LED bulbs that work. Will wait until everyone else is sorted then will purchase some.

quick update, the test bulbs came in from the factory, they came with differant resistors to what i was expecting and they have not worked.

slice is sending me all test bulbs back and i am going to have to build one myself here and test and then get back to the factory to make a new mould for one of the parts, i will be able to do this by the end of this week and get it sent to the factory for them remake the part.

worst case scenario just wack in the original plate lights to let it pass MOT, then put led ones back on after

Not great.

getting errors still. got a few more things I can test but I need the factory to build them.

if you guys want to start sending back the ones that are bringing up errors I am happy to refund.

Test bulb spec was a canbus festoon with a max of 3 led smd 3528 with the halogen bulb on it that slice tested and worked.

If anyone has access to VCDS would you be able to run tests and currents, I am unsure of how to do this via VCDS tho, anyone here help?

would need to know what the current is while on?

I'm in no rush, just intrigued on how your getting along. So I'll hang on in there until something is resolved, unless you decide there's FA you can do.

However, I'm not completely understanding it all.

The test bulb that you mentioned above that worked, the one that slice tested for us, what's wrong with them?
