Hids. I can see again.

They do help a lot don't they, it's staggering how poor the A4 halogen lights are!

where did you get them i need to do something

any issues with radio interference, i tired different hids on my old leon but could never listen to radio with them on

I've just fitted the same kit to my b6, its a quality kit and I've had no problems with it what so ever i'd defiantly recommend hids direct. I had tried another slightly cheaper kit which was described as to not interfere with ABS or the airbag etc but after fitting it the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, so returned it and spoke to the guys at hids direct and they recommended the terminator kit. Really happy with the result.

I went to hids around 3 years ago and its the "first" thing I buy for any car now.. I even bought the set I have now before I got the audi!

I honestly cant see myself going back to halogen ever again and once you get hids you will understand what youre missing,

think ill treat myself to a set for christmas, the previous hids i had on my old leon were cheap ebay dirt so it pays to buy the quality, what kelvin rating did you go for

Just about to buy some off fleabay and I see this thread so now I'm about to purchase the ones you recommend.

What 'k' though, I think 6k will be to white?
I know standard factory xenons are 4300k

Which ones did you order Brillo?

In my experience 4300k give a lot more usable light than 6000k, which also look too blue for my tastes.

Any pictures guys? A good clean white light is the best imho, without the blueness

I went for the 6k and am happy with the colour temp, white with a very slight hint of blue, but if I was honest if I ever had to replace the bulbs i'd probably go for 5k. Its personal preference at the end of the day.

Iv been through the range, from 4300k to 10k
iv settled with 6k as they seem to match the best with the LED's iv also got, in fogs and sidelights.

Will be fitting my hids tomorrow. Shall I put some pics up in this thread of some before, in-between and after pics for those who wanna see the difference?

I've had my HID's for three years now and it's one of the best mods I've done so far! Like T3nnant I went for the 6k to match my LED's.

Are these kits easy to fit and do the headlights need readjusting for over brightness for other drivers etc?

Yes they are easy to fit. The better at DIY you are, the neater the finished article in terms of wiring etc.

It is always best practice to have the lights checked with a proper machine at a garage. Most people do need to lower them slightly not so much side to side adjustment.

I've fitted lots of these HID kits over the years. 5k is the colour I prefer, or 4300K.

Well I fitted mine tonight, straight forward enough. Had a scare though with all the dash lights illuminated when I tried them with engine on, but it sorted itself out. Phew.

Also bought some tidy LEDs 501's from Halfords (the proper ones that car manufactures use) to match them.

Tut!! Mine to!

Been out and about tonight and the warning lights come on again. Quick switch on and off it's all ok again.
Annoying!
Like you said Brillo, these ones are supposed to be total fault free.

Going to try the brown wire earth mod as the abs shares the same earth as the drivers side headlight.

Ballasts are under the headlights.

Yes I re-wired the earth to the windscreen wash bolt.

It's the passenger (n/s) headlight that you need to play with, not the drivers side as I mentioned earlier.

Has anyone bought these recently from HIDS direct? Thinking of getting the 35w 5000K

I had a decent quality HID kit in my old avant that I bought through Tweeks and I have to say they were much clearer and brighter than the factory fit xenon's in the S4. Think I might try a new set of bulbs in the S4

Just fitted a set of 35w terminator hids to my 2.5q. What a difference. I can see the road now. Lol. One of these things I should have done years ago.

I hear what you're saying but moving from a Passat to the Audi, the Passat had far far worse lights with the standard H7's in.
