stage 2 + miltek

anyone any eider as to how much BHP i would be putting out with the above done to my s3.

turbo back miltek and no other mods apart from stage 2 remap which is needed with this exhaust as far as i have been led to believe.

Hi Ed,

Stg2+ is the HPFP upgrade,plus Stg2 mods,and will give you an average of 360-370bhp,and around 360-380lbs torque.

stage2 is nothing much to like really... as you sacrifice a lot of low end and mid range torque due to weak fuel pump, only above 5k i noticed improvement, not to mention fueling problems and else, go straight stage2+ and you wont be disappointed, How stupid was I thinking that stage2 is something in between stage1 & 2+. Its just stage1.5 with extra noise.

im not sure what has all been dont, i just know it is a miltek turbo back, i am not even sure if it has been remapped and if there is a way i can check and tell if it has been done.
what would i need to do if i was to go for the stage 2+ map and what benefits would i notice?

You'll get not only more power,but a LOT of extra midrange torque,right where the car needs it.

Any tuner should be able to tell you if it's been previously mapped,and to be honest,there would be no point in fitting a full exhaust otherwise.

Stage 2+ revo or (Stage 3 shark) on a manual car requires the following:
Full turbo back exhaust, this includes the downpipe & sports cat. Approx £1200 (Miltek)
High pressure fuel pump and cam follower. Approx £600 (Loba)
Cold air intake system (CAI) Approx £250-400 - many makes to choose from however the one AMD designed (do a search) has been proven to give good gains on a standard system let alone a mapped one!
The Remap either REVO or shark, shark is cheaper at £400, revo is £600 or £150 to upgrade if you already have the software.

AND If your cars manual and running a standard clutch you will need to uprate the clutch for anything above stage 1 power. DSG as far as im lead to belive is fine

Thats the minimum really for stage 2+, anything extra like Uprated intercoolers is a bonus but in this country its hardly necessary unless your running seriously big power on an uprated turbo & internals.

No worries.

You need someone to take a look at the car and see what software(if any)is already on it,and also to find out if the HPFP has been upgraded.

As has already been said,for Stg2+,you need the exhaust,CAI and HPFP,and you will definitely need to budget on a new clutch(assuming that it hasn't been changed by the previous owner).

A Stg2+ map can simply be loaded,and left with generic settings,but is far better to be set up on a dyno,and then logged on the road also.
Any decent tuner would check the car over first,then put it on the RR,and find out what it's doing,before going any further.

If you use all of the extra power,it will return poorer MPG figures,but it's easy to simply use the extra torque,and get an improvement instead.
Mine for instance,can still do 30+mpg on the drag into work,but if it's pushed it will get into the low 20s or less.

As you say.....don't be overly worried by it,as all sorts of factors make an impact on power and torque,and 20lbs amounts to a few percent on the day.

My car struggled to make even the stock power on it's first trip to a dyno,before being mapped,and each time after made just about what it was expected to,but things like air temp,fuel,heat soak,tyres,etc etc all play their part.

The Autotech's only drawback is that it's a kit,which uses parts of the existing pump(i.e. the housing),and it absolutely MUST be put together carefully,in a clean environment.

If that's done,it's reliable,and capable of flowing sufficient fuel for over 500bhp.....I have one on my car.


Right now though,if I was buying again,it would be the Loba I'd choose.

Like I said below...the Autotech has worked very nicely for me over some yrs now,but it was built up by AMDTuning,and not by my own fair hands!

For anyone who hasn't got the expertise or facilities,I'd go for the Loba every time now.

Yeah the Autotech pumps worked well for me so far. I got a tuner to fit mine too.
