How to remove the hose clamp in order to fit a CAI on an S3?

Hi,
I have been thinking about fitting a CAI to my S3 8P but at the moment I am wondering how do you undo the nasty hose clamp where the plastic tube from the original air filter goes down the back of the engine to the RHS of the master cylinder?
There is not a lot of access and so the conventional plumbers pipe grips or squeezy clamps have no room to get a grip.
Would I be correct in thinking that these would do the job?

Also if this is the correct tool, do you attack this clip from the top or up from underneath?

What is the current thinking of CAI quality and fitment? I am only interested in a super quality item where appearance is excellent and there are no issues in the fitting.

Having just removed my Evoms CAI I have a lot of sympathy for you. That bottom clip is a right pain to get to but you really have to persevere and eventually you'll get it off.

Hopefully your replacement CAI will come complete with jubilee clips which makes the fitting job a cinch in comparison. If not you need to buy a 70-90mm jubilee clip. Don't even bother trying to refit the original clip, I gave up after 45 minutes. My hands don't have the dexterity they used to have!

I did mine a few years ago so I have no idea, probably just adjustable pliers. I remember it being a pain but not that bad.

A remote tool as you've linked makes it easy, so do long nosed pliers. Done several never had a problem using either of those two.

I used an adjustable wrench and set it to the width of the clamp when it was closed that would mean that the wrench was fully pinched together. I put a cable tie on the handle so when i had it fully pinched i could clamp the wrench shut using the cable tie and then just move the clip upwards and out the way. Then its just pulling the hose (oooo er missus) until it comes off. Took about 10 mins all in.
