Alright guys.

I've got an A3 1.4 TFSI S Line, and looking to install some sort of dump valve. (Inner chav coming out) I have no idea what I should be looking for and was wondering if there was anyone that could point me in the right direction?

Tbh, this is just an idea i've had. If you think it's stupid or that it can't be done, please tell me. I've never had an Audi before and have no idea what can be done to them. Not even sure I would have had one if my step dad didn't offer it me!

Cheers in advance for any replies. :)

I'm sure it could be done, but I don't know whether it would invalidate the warranty? It seems a slightly odd mod to carry out on a new car!

Hi, doesn't your car already have one? I thought all turbo petrol engines do...

The stock one is very quiet. I've seen a replacement one from Forge for around £60 then does the same job just sounds louder.

Oh yeah, forgot about that! Was thinking of taking it too Source Sounds and having a boot build done also? Will this effect the warranty? I didn't realise Audi did like an upgraded sound system as an extra. I had a 2011 Plate 1.2 VW Polo Moda before and picked out a boot build at Source Sounds which was gonna cost £700, only thing that stopped me from having it done was the 4 hour wait time. (Was on my own and couldn't be bothered to wait that long)

Probably won't be going with the idea for a dump valve then, don't think my step dad would be too happy If i was to invalidate the warranty of a £26K car.

Probably wise to leave the DV as there is already an issue with the turbos rattling on the 1.4 TFSI, Audi have released a fix but it would appear to be temporary metal clip. Messing around with the turbo / wastegate might well invalidate any future claims around this area should they arise.

Audi do two different upgraded sound systems; the Audi Sound System, and the B&O Sound System. Both have a dedicated amp, sub and centre speaker, but the B&O is substantially uprated to over 700W (and is probably the best OEM sound system you can get currently for this market segment car). I did a small write up on these here: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-8v-chassis/192172-b-o-vs-audi-sound-system-my-comparison.html .

The B&O is £700 fitted new by Audi, but I suspect would cost a small fortune to be retrofitted. If you're looking at after-market solutions just make sure you don't pay over the odds, as I believe you'd have to be looking at quite high end kit to beat the B&O.

Pretty sure it will come with a recirc-valve not a dump valve as standard.
Ive been there and done it before but that was on a highly modified car and to be honest if your thinking about putting a dump valve on a 1.4 be it an Audi or not you will look like a complete burk.
Do not do it, there's a reason they are used on high power cars running high boost to release excess pressure.
On your car it would be so wrong, please dont do it.
