Well it finally happened after just only 4 weeks of picking her up, I've scuffed the alloy on my brand new A3 , it's nothing major but it's something that I'm going to notice all the time now, I would get it refurbed but Ive heard it's quite a specialist job, looks like I'm going to have to live with it - Damn Kerb

I am no expert on this but have seen people on the forum quoting around £100 to refurb an alloy, I think they said that was a good price though. Depends if that's value to you and if you can get it down to that price, but good luck !

Just had a look at gators and is a really clever idea, and looks better than a very badly scuffed old alloy,
but looks a bit cheap looking and spoils a good looking new alloy for me.
I wouldn't put on a new car, but good for patching up an old car perhaps ?

I think the black and silver ones look fine.

I share your pain, picked up one today myself about the same size ( I am blaming the uphill bend I choose to parallel park on), think it goes with the territory of low profile 18" wheels and is made worse by the fact they are diamond cut.

Will also really bug me ever time I clean the car but will probably wait a while before getting refurb done as I reckon I will end up picking up a couple more over the winter as does appear these wheels are not very forgiving as my curbing was the barest of brushes.

That's why I'm holding out on a refrub for the moment as well, in the mean time I've just touched it up with some Audi Ice silver and Clear coat touch up paint to stop any corrosion now that the weathers getting worse.

Plan to give mine a good clean and a couple of coats of wheel sealant to protect from any corrosion for next few months

Good idea to treat the wheel against any form of corrosion. It's a gutting thing to happen on your new car.

This is probably where the tyre and alloy insurance would come in handy. I took this out on mine, as the large wheels and low profile tyres did look rather vulnerable to kerbs, and I thought they would probably show up every little touch.
