thule roofbar fitting

Hi all. Just after a quick bit of help. Bought a fitting kit for a thule bar set i expected the feet kit to sit in the grove inside the door is this fitting correct?
Sorry if its a mad size laptop is bust so doing it on my phone.

No the feet dont have to sit in the drivers door groove, the feet are mouled to fit inside the door sill perfectly, i just tend to use the inbuilt groove as a guide as to where to line the feet kit up

Make sure that you push the bracket against the car as you are tightening it up - I had a nasty experience with those bars:

Because the thule feet kit doesnt fit in the groove. Ive used them to carry £8000's worth of Downhill Mountain bikes at motorway speeds on numerous occasions and not once have they come loose or given me a scare, i do agree with Jason though especially with the backs under thw window seals. However its usually a care of tightening each side one turn then the other, until theyre tight

Just had a look at your thread, you used a different foot kit to what i have, iirc i have the 754 foot kit with the A3 - 3door adaptor kit.

pretty sure mine clipped in somehow maybe that was the A6 ones.

Fantastic thanks for the replies. There's no way that the Thule kit will reach the groves there isn't the depth on the bracket to go back. On the Thule site it says that it's the right kit I just wasn't sure.

My leg kit is still enroute but when it arrives I'll pop a picture up from angles. I advise eBay though 144 quid I picked the individual bits up for 80 posted from 3 places. Prob could have got cheaper but I like winning on eBay

Cheers - as it happens I wandered off to the bay and just did a buy it now on a pair of 3 door bars from a bloke just up the road - so I'll ask him how they work (they aren't Thule as it happens)

On the rear window on a 3 door there is two little arrows the bar attachment sits under the window seal between the arrows
