Just coming up 100k and the engine mounts are starting to show their age. Vibration, added noise and clunky shift all pointing to one or both gone. Just been to the local stealer and they want £225 for the pair off the shelf. I've seen other non OEM mounts advertised and wondered if anyone had any experience of non OEM items? I'm not after solid nylon mounts as I prefer the smooth ride on OEM mounts, just want to save some pennies if poss. Any suggestions? Failing that, anyone know anywhere online cheaper than £225 for OEM items? Cheers

You could try eurocarparts they sell lemforder parts which are the same as the Audi mounts but they just have the Audi part number & logo ground off. They also have a 50% off on there web site at the moment (but not sure if the mount are on the sale)

Well I can maybe offer some advice here.

The mounts you were quoted were mostly likely the common a4 b7 mounts part numbers :

8E0199382AJ
8E0199379BG

Which will be around £225, trade price for them is about £180. So not much of a mark up.

Euro car parts might stock them but they are not listed on there websites well for me atleast. The lemforder as stated above are generally the audi part with grinded off numbers and labels as I have seen this first hand with the suspension arms etc.

Now in my case im planning on keeping my car for longer period of time so im going for the RS4 engine mounts which is a direct fit.
They will last longer than OE mounts and will make it slightly stiffer. As you would imagine the RS4 engine is a lot heavier than the 2.0t lump. If this is something you are interested in the part number is as follows:

08D0199379AD - £92 trade, £114 retail

So if you did decide to go for purchasing from the stealer. I would highly suggest to get the RS4 mounts. The above part number works for both sides of the vehicle.

Otherwise to keep the ride the way it is try stay clear of solid mounts as they are not as pleasant and change the ride to which you will be used to.

Hope this helps

Get B5 S4 mounts, eBay quotes less than a quarter of the price you guys are paying.

Just to be clear you are talking about the B5 RS4 mounts (which is the v6 lump), also there is no 0 at the start of the part number.

The problem with "ebay" mounts if you never know the quality of the parts you are buying, you can by a full set of control arms for less than £100 but they don't last 6 months!

Yes you are correct there is no "0" at the beginning of the part number. And yes the b5 Rs4 mounts.

my bad

One other thing to note is one of the engine mounts on the B7 has a sensor, which the B5 RS4 mounts don't have so fitting them will put a fault code on the engine ECU, what problems that will cause with the ecu other than just a fault code, I have no idea.

Also changing the engine mounts at 100K is a little early, mine really started to show there age at 250K, have you checked out the gearbox mounts, as they are not as substantial at the engine mounts, and will wear out quicker, after all the gearbox is well connected to the engine and are under just as much load. My gearbox mounts after 250K were completely shot and I was surprised they passed the MOT.

My mounts have done almost 90k miles. The drivers side mount is shot and has the purple stuff running out of it already. As for the passenger side one still seems on the healthy side but of course its best to change in pairs.

As for the sensors some b7 have sensors especially the S4 and RS4 but I dont know of a normal b7 having a sensor my 2.0tfsi does not have.

The TDi engine cars have the sensors, but may be the 1.8 & 2.0 petrol don't have them. The OP does not states what engine he has so figured I add that information. If your front engine mount is shot then I would check the gearbox mounts over, one of my mounts had badly cracked and the other side, rubber inner had come away from the metal mount. With the state they were in you could see the gear stick move when you put your foot down and backed off, it was like a nodding dog....

Yes, I replaced one on a B6 1.9TDi which showed an engine mount error on the ECU.

Sorry to revive an old thread (just 6 days old although allot happens in 6 days) just wondering if the RS4 mounts part number 8D0199379AD was for one side or both, someone on Audizine also spoke about 8D0199382AR and from what I can make out one of the two part numbers is the kit including left and right mounts, snub mounts and mounting hardware, just wanted to know which one was the full kit.

Hey Jake,

The part number 8D0199379AD can be used for left or right side its a "universal" mount.

As for the kit I cant comment on. But the above part will work on any B7 shape that the mounts dont require sensors as some B7's have engine mount sensors. Thou in my case the A4 B7 2.0tfsi doesnt.

hope that helps

does anyone know what the difference between the diesel mounts and petrol mounts are? and would I be able too fit b5 rs4 mounts too 2.0tdi b7?

I have seen 034 ect but wondered if rs4 mounts would fit and be of any benefit ?

Diesel will probably be softer to allow for excess vibrations.

Not sure the b5 mounts would fit mate, have you looked on Google?
