2013 Audi S3

I printed off the broker quote and took it to my 2 nearest dealers, each in a different group. Both were prepared to match the deal. 8%.
You could even do better as no payment to the introducing broker is made.

Hi Scott

Its just a small thing but the LED interior light package looks fantastic, real classy looking. Kicking myslef for not ordering it! I had an S3 SB on two day test drive, this had the light kit in it but too late to add to my order, building this week.

Cheers mate - of course, totally forgot about it. Have always ordered it in the past. Will add it on. Thanks!

Any chance you could let me know which dealers? Thanks

That sounds positive. I'll be going to Bolton Audi for a test drive of their sportback s-tronic next week, have also run my spec through drive the deal and will ask them the question. 8% gives me a few nice little additional goodies so they can match it or another dealer will get the business!

I think thats exactly what I'll do, Planning to go for Brilliant Red, Comfort Pack with Parking Plus, Roof Rails and the B&O sound system. Will be a long wait if the April delivery times are true!

Depends what dealer you go to how full their A3 order books are.

This is Monsoon but it looks in real life much much better than on the vid.

Thanks bjorngra, I had never considered monsoon but it looks good, as the_lecht_rocks says, further pics would be much appreciated. I have decided against estoril now and am strongly considering glacier white (poss out of fashion now but looks so good still!!) and monsoon, they both show the car's lines so well IMO. All I seem to think about is this S3, the sooner it's ordered the better and my wife might get some peace!!

now considering Monsoon again.........................

my order's in, but I've 3 weeks to confirm exterior and interior colour choices :)

It does look nice. I've had quite a few colour wobbles over the course of my purchase! First starting with estoril and chrome and then I moved to panther black crystal with black styling pack. I did heavily consider monsoon but it wasn't dark enough for me. I fear that in the sun it could look too silvery and I definitely didn't want a silver car. Ideally I'd have liked Daytona but that's an a line colour and I wasn't willing to spend 2.5k on paint!

agreed!! It's so damn difficult deciding, my initial choice was also estoril with chrome, but now I'm keen on glacier with black styling pack, sunroof would look amazing with that combo. Panther black looks amazing too but probably higher maintenance and as for custom colours, at 2.5k that means losing out on all sorts of toys for the sake of a colour so I just can't bring myself to do that! The more you visit this brilliant website and thread, the more you change your mind, ****** it!

At least we can make a well informed decision before pulling the trigger! I don't think I've ever spent as much time researching a purchase in my entire life! Checking this site is the first thing I do when I wake up and the last thing I do at night!

Estoril gives it a nice sporty appearance but not a 'mean' one, which is what I wanted from my car. I wanted people to quake at the wheel as I pulled up behind them on the road! 👻 it saves me having to overtake them!

So true!!! Happened to be searching for S3 pics and vids when I came across this site, very glad I did because it's been so useful in lots of ways. Ditto, I actually check the site several times a day and have created at least 4 different build spec's on the audi website so far! I had never heard of drive the deal for example so would have gone into dealers without that knowledge. Know what you mean about estoril, the speckle looks fantastic but I don't quite like it enough to look at it for the next 4 years, same with misano even though it looks amazing in the flesh. I always wanted white so will go for that I reckon! I guess that there isn't a lot out there that will leave an S3 standing at the lights!! Maybe there should be an S3 enthusiasts day sometime!

Yeah not much will leave an S3 standing. I saw a race filmed from the passenger seat of an S3 on instagram the other day. The race was against a Porsche Panamera 4S and the 4S LOST!

This also shows how our passengers are set to enjoy our new cars!

Totally LMAO, what a cracking video, well found!! Now I'm going to have to add the super sports seats because they look so damn good, and that engine sound, say no more. Even my wife was splitting her sides watching the passengers face, hilarious!! Saved to bookmarks, will be watching daily!

So how have people been running there cars in?

Anyone have any special methods?

Monsoon is a great colour, that takes on different appearances based on light and cleanliness, always looking fantastic.
It's a car that I don't mind not being spotlessly clean as it takes on an almost blue look when it's been on the road for a while, post wash.
When I was placing my S5 order I compared an Estoril S5 next to a Monsoon A5 and Monsoon showed the lines of the car far, far better, so that took my order.

Would have ordered the S3 in Monsoon, but loved the Misano I saw in Aberdeen so placed an order for one that looks exactly like the Demo (minus the red interior pack that is).

IMO

Hello guys

i have been quoted end of November delivery for my S3 SB, but haven't had any kind of update from the dealer for a month (which was them giving me the good news that it had come forward from December) , and haven't yet been given any kind if build date.

should i be calling them today to be asking for a firm build week?

This was something I wanted to know actually. How long before the build week commences will they know the build week?

Yeah i keep reading about people being quoted their build weeks quite early on, but was sort of hoping that no news from the dealer was good news as i have also read a few unfortunate posts where members have been delayed until next year!!

My dealer seemed adamant from the beginning and back in September that my car is definitely coming in Novemeber due to the allocation they have.

When the dealer places your order they should have a build week confirmed more or less straight away for you, its only when the dealer has gone over there allocation will they be cagey over build weeks, if your vehicle is expected to be delivered end of november your dealer must have a definite build week for you which is probably week 44 ! give them a ring they will certainly know ! Im currently awaiting my build week 40 S3 sportback being shipped over it has been awaiting to be assigned a ship for 8 days now !!!

Same here - built in week 40 and currently waiting to be assigned a ship. Should have it before the end of October - these final weeks are killing me! Ordered mid June...

Apart from demo cars I still haven't seen any in the flesh and even managed to hold off taking a demo for spin.

On colour: I initially ordered Brilliant Red. Then considered switching to Misano. Then asked to change to Sepang but was put off by the increase in wait the dealer was quoting (and price - jokers!). Finally fixed on Monsoon as I like the aggressiveness and the silvery look in the sun / under lights. Of all the options, colour really caused me the most stress...and dealer probably thought I was mad!

Well i just called them and my salesman is not back in until Monday, so i will call him first thing Monday morning.

Kind of hoping that because it's only just over a month away that there surely won't be any bad news...

Keyser,
I would imagine our vehicles will both be heading to the Port of Tyne together, keep an eye out for any ships coming from Emden next week ! I believe they have to work within a 10 day window to allocate vehicles to a ship so our dealers should know which ship they will be arriving on in the coming days !
Is anybody getting there vehicle detailed ? Im going to do mine myself as soon as i get home Carpro iron x snow soap , chemical guys snow foam, followed by hand wash using Dodo juice shampoo , sealant applied then wax ! this should set it up for the winter :)

Are you going to buy a hand held polishing machine? I saw a few on the halfords site for about £40

Hi Paul, I've got the build week one week after I ordered the car. The car is pushed forward two weeks. Five weeks before the build date you can't make configuration changes anymore.

As i learn more about detailing and how to do it correctly, i will look at getting something like this, there's just so much stuff out there to choose from :uhm:

Yeah as far as I can tell you need a shampoo to get the majority of the dirt off, then perhaps a clay bar to get the remaining dirt off. Then you can apply the polish and use the buffer followed by the protection/seal chemical and finally a wax. I haven't read any how-to's properly yet but that's how I imagine it should go. Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! I have a feeling I'll buy the products and do it myself. I don't fancy getting charged £400 every 6 months to get my car cleaned properly by somebody else!

I need to learn about all this stuff as well, need to keep my car clean! Will have to get myself a basic car wash kit I think then go from there...

New cars "shouldn't" need to be machine polished.

IMO
