Jardo's 'Journey to quattro' - My Story...

The lights were supposed to be new genuine, but turned out to be Depos. They look exactly as the genuine lights though.

:)
What's the fit of the Depo's like? I've got Depo rears and they're not all that great.
This is why I've been putting off doing my headlights for a while, with not knowing what they fit like and and genuine Hella ones being a little too much to justify with everything else I've recently forked out for.
But if these are just as good, I can finally put the HID kit I bought from the group buy months ago to use :icon_thumright:
-Callum.

Looks tidy on those wheels and the new lights look fresh as a daisy. I always wanted a black S3 but had to settle for silver :(

Looks evil, but I still prefer it on the others. If you do want some CHs for the winter I may be able to help - not sure if I like them on mine enough to keep them for long :p

Hands off Nick! You've never cleaned Rainbirds car.

The Depo lights fitted fine, nice and snug with the wings. My front bumper doesn't fit very well but they look ok.

I want your CH's bird, they'd look bad-*** as road wheels on my track car

I do miss my CHs :( I was *this* close to getting a pair of 18x10s for the rear when I had mine but missed out last minute on the auction. The 10s have awesome dish.

Haha, swift work, Nick. Speedy posts from you both and a message from Seamons in no time at all after posting that!

If I can find some well-priced wheels to replace them that don't look too silly (either OEM+ look or something just plain pimp!) then I'll let you know :p

Through the MOT ok then, J-Rod? Mine on Monday so fitting LCR hubs/cast wishbones this eve with Mr Miller. Should just about see it pass.

It's at 3:30... I know it will pass, but it's just nerve racking all the same.

After all the work we have done to it, it will be nice to have an impartial third party see it.

It's been MOT'd by my mate since we first got it as a standard car, so he has known it for 5 years now from a standard dull A3 to a modified dull A3.

Luckily, I haven't had an advisory in the 4 years I have had her.

Whilst I only officially purchased her this time last year, I have been looking after her since 2009.

So very happy that all of the work my friends and I have put into her over the last year was worthy of a clean pass.

Funny wheel related post to follow...

Thanks man.

These wheels really ruin it for me, I liked then originally but now I hate them. The silver wheels are so nice they distract your eyes from the blemishes and paintwork defects.

I am so glad Nicks back from Spa so I can have my old shoes back.

Oh, and Clive at CNTuning is building me a forged engine. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

RD rods and agu pistons with largeport head?

Drilled rods from Ben Parsons, BAM pistons and a large port head.

Basically Clive has asked me to go down to his workshop for a weekend and give it a go. He said he wants me to have a go at stripping and rebuilding, and if I **** it up he will do it for me.

I've built engines in the past, but never on my own car which is the nerve racking thing. Building a Zetec in the work bench at College or building a B series with your dad is very much different to driving to your mates, tearing your engine out and not being able to go hone until it is built.

Cracking offer! Too god to turn down. Good luck with it mate. Got a date in mind??

Scope for more timing.

Coupled with meth it should allow the timing through the roof on a K300 black widow, and make 300/300 without breaking reliability.

Load of ****e  and you know it!

You're lowering compression because 20mm RD rods are cheaper than 19mm, you have 19mm pistons, and you were given 20mm BAM pistons for free, which just happen to be lower compression

It's all just so much money to spend!

I REALLY need to raise the suspension too, it's doing my head in.

I might take the front up 10mm and the rear 15.
