Anyone petrol owners taken the plunge yet?

I am tempted myself as I ve seen a few diesels with them and it looks smart.

Change the exhaust to 2 outlets, you will not have the clearance in the valance converting frm 1 to 2

Got mine. Well worth it imo

Are my eyes deceiving me or is there a difference in the exhaust finish between yours and Dazz78?

No idea mate, mine is Chrome and it came like that as standard when I bought the car from Audi, I do have the Sport model though, not sure if S-line or other trims are different :)

Cheers. Mine is a Sline and its certainly not like the the one on Dazz78's car. Mine could do with a scrub and some metal polisher as well, something which I never had to do with the exhaust on my old diesel A1.

I have definitely as standard the same as Dazz, at least it looks exactly the same. But I have a 1,8 TFSI quattro, maybe that is the reason?

Regards,
Tom

I 've just checked the latest UK A3 sales brochure and it mentions the Sport variant having chrome tailpipe finishes. But not the case for sline or SE.

I'm pretty sure that the 1.6TDI and lowest petrol engine have the single exhaust, everything else has dual.

My s-line had chrome pipes the last time I looked

Cheers for that. It seems the chrome pipes have been omitted from the petrol SE / Sline models. Guess I will have to fork out 60 notes

My 1.8TFSI (FWD) S-Line has twin chrome exhausts.

I think it works like this:

Twin exhaust on all except 1.2 TFSI and 1.6 TDI ( 2x twin exhaust for S3)
Chrome finishers on Sport trim and above.

John.

It wasnt standard on my SE... £60 extra for the double pipes from the dealership. Just spent 2 days detailing her when i took that photo so nice and shiny :D Just used autoglym super resin polish on them... does a good job of getting the black soot off as well

I fitted Skoda Yeti chrome exhaust tips to my SE, in my opinion they are not chrome but polished stainless steel. They are a perfect fit, they would be being the same as Audi ones, except they are stamped with a skoda part number. Very easy to fit, took about ten mins max, you need a hammer or rubber mallet and a short length of timber to tap them on as they are a tight fit. The instructions say to cut the exhaust ends but this is not required.

Best bit is you can walk into any skoda dealer and buy them for £25 or from a Skoda dealer on ebay delivered for £28. Don't bother paying rip off Audi prices.
