Strange I just got a call from them saying they cant quote me because of the April delivery date, It's a Sportback so maybe that makes a difference. Was going to hold of putting an order in for another month or so as ive just started a new job but with April delivery dates I might just put an order in this week!
Test drove a S-Tronic one a week ago and have had it on my mind since, no manual to test though how does it match up to the S-Tronic?
 
Drove a manual SB today, it was better poised, quicker and made quite a different noise to my current S3. Am now really looking forward to mine; am told it is at the port of Emden ready to board transport to Grimsby. Hope it don't take toooo long!

Did you order from Bury St Edmunds Audi? If so will be interested to know how long it takes for the car to get to you. Mines supposed to be built week 42, which I think may be next week
 
Finally after a trip to the Geneva Motor show way back in March to first see the S3 Sportback at it's launch and then months of waiting, patience and research I have ordered my S3 today. Order placed through my local dealer who after some negotiations matched my DTD price. :sm4:

Yes, I ordered through BSE Audi. Mine was also supposed to be built in Wk 42 so, you might have some news soon.

Result just had a call from the dealer the s3 is there I have been told pick it up on Monday afternoon. The wait is nearly over. Build week com 23rd sept good turn around

Crikey ... my car was build week comm 30th Sept so possibility I could get a call this time next week then :)
 
Out of interest .......

Anyone know how long it actually takes to build a car once it starts production - it can't be long based on the above.
 
3 to 5 days, usually. 1 day each for Bodyshop, Engine / Chassis marriage, Interior, and then QC.

If it's in longer than that it can sometimes mean there's a QC issue ;)

Looking at ordering a new S3. Apologies I've read through a few pages but there are so many!

What are the must have options? I think I'm going for:

S3 3dr 6 speed
Monsoon Grey or Glacier White
Black styling package
Comfort package
Alcantara/leather
Privacy glass
Electric folding mirrors
Hold assist
B&O sound system
Technology package with Mobile telephone preparation - High with Audi Connect --- really not sure if this is worth it, or should I just go for normal Technology package?
LED headlights - does anyone have any experience of them? Are they worth it over the xenons?

Have I missed anything important?

Finally, what dealerships has everyone ordered from? I've been to a few and only one is really entertaining a discount. I'm pushing for 8.29% (DTD) I need to call back tomorrow but they are suggesting maybe 7-8%

Test drove a SB S3 S-Tronic today, had it for the day. Loved the car, but no deal to be done as 'no discount'

Looking like a nice spec.

May as well add the tyre pressure monitor to as its a cheap add on!

I also went for Teck Pack High with the audi connect. Went a bit blind on that option as not to sure what to expect although I know it won't be working with my iPhone. I hope its good!


Also does anyone know if it is at all possible to pick up from the factory or does that not happen these days? Where is the factory?

Cheers Snake - got there in the end. Your S5 will be very soon now, bet the excitement is mounting!

Yes Estimated delivery is March. Fine with me, didnt want it in the winter and the new reg then seemed sensible.

Hi Scott

Its just a small thing but the LED interior light package looks fantastic, real classy looking. Kicking myslef for not ordering it! I had an S3 SB on two day test drive, this had the light kit in it but too late to add to my order, building this week.

Wow that is a pretty thorough spec mate - but have ticked all the boxes for main "wow" items which IMO are ...

LED lights
Estoril blue paint
Pano roof
Super sports seats
Privacy Glass
B & O speakers

Also agree with you on the choice of alloys - I have also been drawn to that design from day 1 too.
That will be a superb car mate and well worth the wait and research I am sure.

Taking delivery in November was not my preference by choice - but having ordered way back in May, I can't wait any longer.
I will get a nice coat of wax on it for max protection though.

Very envious of the LED lights - these are the only things I will miss on the S5 but hey at least I have picked the best colour too :)

Anyone had much luck of getting their Drive the Deal discount matched by a main dealer. thinking of popping in to the Aberdeen one this weekend to order a Manual Sportback but wouldnt mind any tips on getting a discount First time buying a new car!
